| text (.txt file) to palm (pdb) I'm looking for a desktop app to convert books I have in .txt format into a pdb format or other format my Clie can read. Anybody know of software that can do this and where I can find it? |

| Try QEX2. You can download it from Qland

| Actually if you have a memory stick, there is a web html browser for PalmOS that allows you to view text files directly off external media. You can copy your text files to the MS via MSImport.
I can't seem to recall the name of the browser - will update here if I manage to find it.
Update: Ahh... yes. It's called PocketLink.
You might want to look around Palmgear and do a search on "browser" - I believe there are others with similar capability. http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?f...mp;prodID=16405
One main disadvantage I can think of is it may not have the features we have taken for granted from a full-featured ebook reader such as Palm Reader / Pro.

| I like DocInOut . It has a easy to use drag n drop interface, and works flawlessly.
And it's FREE!

| I really like Plucker !
It's freeware.
It lets you easily convert .TXT files to .PDB files.
It also is a great for capturing webpages and converting them to PDA format (like AvantGo does).
Plucker also includes a very good doc reader. http://www.plkr.org/index.plkr |

Wow! DocInOut is awesome! I was using MakeDocW by itself, could never get it configured correctly, and always had to edit a DOC file with QED after it was on the Palm (Usually lost the paragraph breaks). DocInOut works flawlessly like you say! Thanks YellowRose! |

| If you own HandStory, simply open the text file in your favorite text editor (Notepad is fine), Select all, copy, and click on the HandStory icon in the system tray. This brings up a convert dialog box. Simply verify the settings and click "OK". The next time you HotSync, you can read the file in HandStory!
Very easy, very fast, very cool. I do this all the time.
And it doesn't have to be just text in a file. Highlight just about ANY text that you can copy and it works. you can also directly convert images and entire web pages just as easily, but that's another issue.

| Hi,
Touching on what jbarr said, I use handstory to convert text files.
When i do this, you can also read the converted text in isilo.
I do not know if other readers will see the file but you may try it.
What I do is right click on the handstory icon, go to convert, go down to text image or html, leftclick, find your text and open it and you can convert it.
I have done many etext this way and they work very well in isilo.
Did not know if this is general knowledge but thought I would pass it on.
