| Beaming problems - UPDATED Trying to check and want to know if anyone knows another way, I also have a PEG- S300 and it sees the attempt (Waiting for sender), but nothing gets sent and my NX says (Could not find a receiving handheld computer), I am trying at 3, 6, and 12 inches. IF I try to send from the PEG-S300, my NX70V never sees anything.
Any Ideas?

| Some addition to my previous reply...
My NX can perform the following stuff
1) Can receive files from other PDA through Infrared
2) Perform HotSync through Infrared
3) Can remote control TV through Infrared
4) CANNOT send files to other PDA through Infrared
Any other NX user facing this kind of problem?

| I am having the same problem I can beam only to 33mhz units. The 66mhz sony units my coworkers have don't play nice with my NX. I can receive just fine. I had to soft reset in order to get that working.
The 66mhz units (665, NR70) give the error message "can't find a receiving handheld computer."
I have emailed Sony but they haven't given me a good answer. |

| If i can remote control TV and Hotsync through infrared using my NX, does that mean my infrared hardware is working fine?

| I don't have a problem with mine using it bothways between my NR70 and NX70. Make sure beam receive is on, and in some cases a soft reset is necessary.

| We'll I still can't get anything, and I have checked all the obvious like the prefrences, I think I'll try to use the remote. I do have a IR keyboard app that isn't working and got an email from tech-support so I'm calling them tomorrow, let everyone know what the result is.

| I had this problem when I first received my NX60 and gave my T665 to my wife. What I did to fix this problem was:
1. Hotsync'd and Soft Reset my NX
2. Went to the Sony Support Site and downloaded the T665 patch and installed that which performed a reset of its own.
3. Beamed file from my NX to the T and it worked.
Hope this helps.

| Update--
The IR Keyboard that I purchased from CompUSA, called the Iconcepts and manufactured by www.sakar.com does not support OS5, tech support says they will have a driver by Feb.
As for beaming, I've tried the suggestions and hard and soft reset, checked to make sure beaming is on in both my CLIE's and so far the NX70V does not recoginze anything coming in, and the PEG-S300 sees the NX70V (Waiting for sender) but eventually the NX70V says (Could not find a receiving handheld computer). I've tried 1" to 12" with no success.
Time to call Sony support (Just thinking about it is making my skin crawl and my hair stand on end)
Anyone have any sucess stories or OTHER hints?
