| NX80 Flash ROM? Does anyone know how much Flash can be opened up using JackFlash with the NX80 or if this is even possible?

| Zero K. JF does not currently work with the 73 or 80. Also since the flash is actually built into the CPU it appears that Sony could have locked it using a 64 bit key in which case we're not going to get access to it.

| Let me ask you this, if you were Sony and you could lock up the ROM, would you do it?
Sony uses the new all in one Intel Strata-Flash chip now.
Intel's site explains it all.

| It seems that Brayder has said it's possible, and they're working on it (though no JackSprat). What I'm wondering is if they've gotten far enough to find out how much available flash there is in the NX80. I don't mind the wait so much, but I'd like to look forward to how much I'm going to get (or not get my hopes up if it's not much). |

| i counted how much did $ony use to store their software last night, the answer is 26MB, so we'll have 32-26=6MB ! ! but this is on a Japanese version, the English version will have 7 more than that i think (4M for Japanese system, 3M from the Japanese dictionary) Total 7+6=13MB ! |

| another case with the foreign language version being RAM hungry?
The numbers above shows a tremendous difference! 13MB vs. 6MB

| I wouldn't hold my breath on that. The first line of TG's were flashable, but now they are not. Sony has the capacity to lock up Intel's P263 Strata-Flash all in one chip. Brayder may be reluctant to give a definitive answer. Sony fixed it so that the ROM apps cannot be messed with. Someone said their Clie's warranty was nulified because Flash ROM was used. I kept telling those who wanted to migrate from the NX 70, to go to the NX80 instead of the NX73. At least you know that 15.5MB is available verses the NX73's 11MB. That extra 4MB can make a huge difference for some. Using JackFlash on my NX70, gave me back the 4.8MB that was taken away. If Brayder does make a break through that would be great, until then...
