| Yes, and it usually turns out to be a hardware issue.

| Your problem should lie in a flip switch that broke.... did you flip the lcd in the wrong direction? There was a thread some time ago on how to fix the switch..but it involves some soldering work, and taking apart the hinge assembly... not like the simple paper fixes and so on. http://home.comcast.net/~clayglad1/clie/ All the best and good luck!

Cause then the wires would twist and break off.

#8 | | Guest | it wasnt obvious that the switch was broken, the turning wheel seems to raise it just fine, may beit is a different issue, or the switch may really be broken, just not visibly, one way or another i have to realize that i barely ever used the open mode anyway, so i decided not to take the rest of it apart. it sucks that it doesnt go into hold/sleep mode when i close it cause it thinks the screen is side up, anyway, i need a hack that can switch the screen direction just in case i need to write something long in the future and i want to use the keyboard, so if anyone knows of such a hack, i would greatly appreciate a link, thanks.\
p.s. i do not recommend anyone opening the parts suggested above, they are not as simple of the construction of the back panel, and are easily damaged

Yup, that's why I mentioned it was more difficult compared to all the previous paper fixes and etc... Lucky for us CLIE users that they come with a hold switch, so you still can deactivate the screen when its in closed mode. Hacks to flip the screen.... never really heard one exists before.

| few, my screen is working again, i was right the switch was not broken, but i had water spilled on it around that time, i disconnected it and dryed as usual, after a night on the fan it was back to normal, and a little later i noticed the screen, now i think it was just water damage because after a day of no use at all it is back to normal, thank G-d for Shabbos. Good week to all.
