| PDAIR clear flip cover review I'm in the uk and my PDair cover just arrived, took about 4 working days from Brando in HK.
not much to say really other than it was an absolute bugger to get on. I expected to have to remove the joints for my standard cover and slot them into the pdair as with the other clear cover talked about in threads on this site. But no the pdair comes with a couple of plastic nodules sticking out which in theory you just push on the cover and the plastic sticky outy bits (technical stuff eh!) just slot in the the TG's holes....in theory...after about 10 mintues of head scratching I discovered at some risk of death by flying sharp plastic, the pdair cover flexes just enough to force it in to position, at which point it doesn't click in to place, it just won't go any further. Once on it swings up and down fine and seems to do a great job of protecting whilst allowing you to see whats on the screen, as is it's job description. I don't know what the quality of the other available clear cover is like, the padair is fairly clear, certainly enough to type text and even watch movies, though at certain angles you get that slight shimmering effect you get from a freshly fitted screen protector.
BUT hey for $15 dollars inc postage that's about £9 quid, it's a good buy and well worth the cut's and bruises. |

| how's the clearance for the hard app buttons and the up/down toggle? that's my biggest peeve with the pocketgames cover. the pdair cover looks like it has enough room, but do you find it sufficient? |

#5 | | Guest | pdair pictures link OK, the clearance is good, some suggested this would be a problem in that you would keep turning the tg on in your pocket.
If you put it in your pocket just click the on button to hold..no problem. (besides I generally don't keep it in my pocket)
it's a bit fiddley to get on I have put together a little webpage with detailed pictures here -- http://myspace-online.co.uk/my_pdair/index.htm
So far I am happy with the pdair cover it seems to make the TG a bit smaller and when I put it in it's holder in my car so I can use the mp3 player through my stereo I no longer have the large flip cover getting the way of the cars dash controls.
I have also added a couple of pictures for a little tip I found.
I was given some small rubber carpet anti slip stickers for a rug in my hallway, but I found that they stick neatly on the base of my TG50 1: they raise up one end making it easier to see on a flat surface when typing 2: it makes typing easier on a flat surface as the TG doesn't slip. 3: it keeps the base off surfaces so it doesn't get scratched.
note: you can't put them on the lower underside as the TG won't fit in it's cradle.

| shipping best thing to do is go to Brando add the item to the shopping basket , go through the process of buying it and they should give you a shipping amount before you actually confirm the sale, then if it's no good exit or clear the shopping cart. |

#11 | | Guest | pdair I have just updated the pdair installation website http://myspace-online.co.uk/my_pdair/index.htm with a shot of it in use in my car.
in case anybody wondered. Also to answer the odd questions about where to buy, I bought it from brando http://shop.brando.com.hk/pdairclietg50cover.php service was swift as was delivery, (much quicker than I expected) after a few days it is proving usefull, it's handy in the car, and out on jobs I just hit the hard key to open notepad, go into an entry and start typing with the keyboard, no need to lift the cover at all.

I love the way it looks in the car. Are you using any other case with your TG50??? I think I will order the pdair cover to go with my new Krusell case. |

| other case I am a photographer by day, so I carry a big ?*&%$£@ bag everywhere, so I keep my TG50 in a Lowepro D-res 100 soft padded case which slips in to a front pocket on my camera bag, it can then be pulled out and velcro strapped on to the bag strap or on ya belt.
I have no use for an expensive leather case, I am in the process off designing a sling style shoulder pack to hold a pda a mobile phone and a few essential bits like keys and credit cards, for when I don't need to carry my camera bag, and want to use my TG as an mp3 player out and about. |
