Help-Will Screen protector for a T615 fit a T665?

Hi,

My daughter put a few little scratches on my T665c from playing pyramid. Now I am looking for a screen protector and can't find one for the T665 at all.

CompUSA has one for the T615, and from the picture on the outside, it looks exactly like my T665. I just don't know if the size of the screen is the same. Does anyone know? Any ideas where I might find the screen protector from a T665C.

Is the Fellows WriteRight an ok brand?

Thanks in advance,
Melanie

Yes, the T615 screen protector will fit on the T615 and T665.

I use the Fellows WriteRight on my N760, and I've never had any problems. In fact, I stopped using the N760's flimsy flipcover altogether since the screen is completely protected. There is a slight loss of sharpness/crispness to the screen, but it's not noticeable unless you're extremely picky. I can't comment on other brands, but I'd recommend the WriteRight from personal use.

They come 12 in a package, do you really need to change to a new one each month? I have put so much money into this PDA, that I really don't want to buy one for a few more years. Should I buy several packages of these.

Thanks,
Melanie

I've been using my Brando screen protector (which you can buy through the ClieSource store here) for six months straight, and haven't had any noticable scratches or wear in it at all. You can even wash them off with water and reapply it again if it gets too dirty over time. It's made from a thick, heavier type of plastic, so it isn't flimsy like the writeright stuff. It's slightly sticky on the back to keep it on the screen, much like the other protectors out there. But, if you want something that will last without having to remove and reapply all the time, I'd definitely suggest the Brando protectors. You only get one in a pack for a higher price, but it's already paid for itself in my case.

Cheers.

I did look this morning at the screen protectors through ClieSource, but I didn't see one for the T665. I would spend more if it was good.

http://shop.brando.com.hk/screenprotector.php

Has anyone ordered from Brando directly. I found a T615 directly from them for $12 each, or $21 for 2.

If I want the screen protectors to last a few years (since the T665 is now discontinued, I think I should order enough for a couple of years), do you think 2 is sufficient. Do I need to order more?

It looks like Brando no longer stocks the size for the T series, but Innopocket uses the same plastic and design... it's basically a Brando protector, but with the different name. You can get it here:

I've been very happy with mine. Just be sure to apply it in a room with little to no dust floating around, like a bathroom.

Cheers.

I am very satisfied with the Brando protectors. I have used them on 3 different PDA for 6 months to a year without having to replace them. All I do is clean them periodically with a damp paper towel.

I don't use lotion on my hands though which could require more frequent cleanings.

I use them

I'm currently using the 615 WriteRight protectors in my Clie T665c. Works great.

I'd buy just one set. Chances are prices will be lower when you have to renew.

I was spoiled with my Palm IIIxe -- radio shack sold generic ones that fit it for 9.99 per 12. They only stock the WriteRight brand for Clie's right now, but eventually I suppose they'll have or make generic ones.

I do have to say that the WriteRight ones work a whole lot better than the Radio Shack ones I had for me IIIxe. They go on more easily and the feel of the stylus on them is nicer.

www.freescreenprotectors.com. They have CompanionLinks for about $5 for 10. They last a good three months each, are very transparent, and have served me well for 18 months on my T615C/T665C. My T615C screen was like new when I sold it.

I got some off-brand (Micro Innovations) screen protectors at Fry's a while back (probably about 4-6 months ago). I've only changed my screen protector once.

Here's a link...

Good luck

Boxwave screen protector - excellent!

I have been using the Boxwave screen protector and find it to be excellent. They make a version for the T665. It has the durability of the Brando but is less opaque. Look for it at www.boxwave.com

Incidentally the same company makes a nifty little device called the minisync, a little retractable device that is very portable.
