I know why, you are using a *.5 frames per second setting.

This happened to me and i wondered why, it seems the default settings on the IC Tool are wrong. Just change it to 10,12,14,15 fps, anything that is an even number

If you are still using IC 1.0, then no need to change the new version (although I changed fps section to accept integers only in the new one).

For IC 1.1, I'm sorry that I've already sure that the program is working... As I haven't UX, so I need someone to test video rate > 384kbps to test it can play in UX or not...

But if you really want to try, then I can send you d/l link in PM later (after minor adjustment)...

Actually no one wants a new prefs editor? If so, then I won't release it... Although it was already completed and can enable "hidden feature" in IC.

What 'hidden feature' would this be???

I would like to be able to use anything else BUT IC to convert my movies, it takes tooooo long

I'm working with the MMPlayer developer to help with Clie support, that is shaping up to be a very good movie app.

With DivX support, it has superior quality and less file size, also DivX encodes around 3x faster

The only problem is the 8khz sound API by SONY , but CliePet seems to be working on a better one (hopefully)

'hidden feature' is "hidden"...

I agree IC takes long time to convert. But IMHO, if there is an bulit-in player can do a good job (in both video and audio quality), then I don't want to pay for another player..

DivX conversion in my PC is just 2x faster (or maybe nearly same). Of course, I haven't tried to use MMPlayer standard to convert, it may take shorter time. You said this is superior quality, it is much better than those "sample movies" in the official site?

I hope CliePet can solve this problem too, because using YAMAHA ADPCM is terrible quality (IMHO). I can't accept that...

And if CliePet can solve the limitation of MoviePlayer (i.e. playing 768kbps in NX/NZ/TG), that it is much better...

mattyj2002,

You're saying that you are happy with MMplayer and as I can read from your signature you are using NX70V (so as me)

Does MMplayer support NX70V ? What about sound support ?

How about adding the ability to change the setttings beyond the IC standards, like higher framerates (greater than 15)? Unless the clie won't play higher framerates, I don't see any reason why this feature shouldn't be added. It would be a trial and error process, but totally great feature.

This already supported in the new version (up to 30fps and 768kbps in IC 11). Only UX can play MQV more than 15fps and 384kbps, other CLIEs can't play.

If someone can hack the Avx MQT Parser.prc, maybe older CLIEs can play also..

Well, IMO, a 250kbps DivX at 320x240 resolution (and at 25fps, or even 30 if you want!) is the same quality as a High Quality MQV (384kbps)!

This is mainly due to the fact that DivX MPEG4 uses alot more advanced algorithums to achive a much higher quality result in less filesize. DivX also supports 2pass encoding to gain even better results!

I would rather spend $15 on purchasing MMplayer, than the extra $50 or more in purchasing a larger memory stick/compact flash card to have high quality CLIE Movie Player videos.

Just my 2 cents (or pence )

Yes.. But one of the most important thing is, MMPlayer's using Yamaha ADPCM... Like Kinoma, such audio quality is terrible for me.. And (IMHO) framerate isn't too much differences between 15fps and 30fps, video bitrate is much more important...

If the audio problem is solved, maybe I will change also.. Although I have 512MB MSPRO and 384MB CF.

I'm buming this thread as i try to use this tool on my ux but IC 1.1 won't allow conversion after i used the tool....it won't niether after i selected default settings so i think i'm good for a IC reinstall ; anyway unchanged profiles are still working.

Have anybody else tested this on a ux ?

same results here as well when I tried half year ago, to use the same conversion tool IC1.1, doesn't work, & I've WinXP Pro.

Anyway, Jackho has already stopped the testing since there were not many people interested in testing this tweaking application. I do however wonder how he's doing.

@c0mm0n:
go into your registry and go to
hkey_local_machine/Software/Sony Corporation/Image Converter/1.1
In this section you find the settings for imageconverter.
For Imageconverter 1.0 you had different settings for the xx_stereo (xx being LO, NO, HI or SH) which brake the settings for 1.1 if you use the tool.
Just set those values for xx_stereo back to 1 or 2 (mono or stereo) and IC 1.1 wil work again.
