Has anyone linked NX70V with WiFi card wirelessly to Mac OS X with Airport?

I cannot get any true functional link with my iMac running Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and its Airport WiFi after shutting down the Dell system.

I changed the NX70V Network to search for the iMac IP address in Ad Hoc mode. And it even "said" that it connected: but I could not HotSync or send email or browse the web. Instead I got a lot of freezes and resets.

Any help out there?
Any suggestions?
