| clinical medicine consult Hi y'all,
I've seen this Clinical Medicine Consult mentioned here several times, and it seems to come highly recommended. I checked it out and it seems pretty cool. I was wondering if y'all could tell me more about your practical daily use of this book.
I downloaded the demo of one chapter (Neurology, what will be my first rotation). It seemed chocked full of info, but some of it was a bit hard to interpret because of big chunks missing. Is this problem cleared up in the full version? Also, once you have the whole registered version, do the chapters reference and link to each other? Can you search for signs and symptoms found in many chapters, or do you have to search in each and every chapter for a full differential? Also, is this book appropriate for me as a third year and helpful enough to someone with a knowledge base as small as mine?
Thanks |

| I don't use it daily, but it often seems to have information in it that PEPID or 5MCCC doesn't (Emerg). And I like to use it when teaching medical students -- they always ask questions about stuff I forgot years ago, and CMC seems to have that kind of information in it. |

| Buyer Beware!
I bought this program 3/12/03 & recommended it here.
I take that back. You are supposed to get free updates for 1 yr. On 4/10/03 Dr Weber sent me an email regarding the update. It detailed going to a webpage, entering the user ID & password he supplied in the email.
I have done this 2x, but the user ID & password do not work.
I have sent him 2 emails asking for the correct ID & password. He has never answered the emails & its already 6/24/03.
He apparently does NOT support his product & does false advertising, in my experience. |

| Not sure why you are having a problem roper, but I have received updates by e-mail for the past year. I never received a login userid or password, I never needed it. |

| You got an email attachment?
I didn't. I got a webpage I'm supposed to goto: http://plus.xdrive.com then use the login given in the email.
The title of the email I received from Dr Weber is "Update: Clinical Medicine Consult v3.3". I only have version 3.0 (the original one I paid for).
This is the email I used for Dr Weber's customer support for which I never received an answer: cgweber@pol.net
I bought this over at Handango. & when you purchase it, then its the full program.
I wrote an customer support email to Handango today too, to register a complaint about this company. Maybe they can find out what is going on. |

| This thread got me going on CMC again. I downloaded the 3.61 update. Lot of good new stuff. I don't use this reference near enough. Seems to be built just right for a 320x480 screen too (and reading glasses, sigh). |

I tried 3 times before I realized that when I cut-and-pasted the password, it added a blank space at the end of the password that you can't immediately see unless you count the dots. Doh! |

| Hi JT,
Just now, tried the cut & paste again, counted the stars, still no luck. So then carefully typed in the userID & the password again - still doesn't work.
Are any of you able to get in touch with somebody at cgweber@pol.net???
I send my emails to them with a "Read Receipt Requested", but they never send that back either. |

#10 | | Guest | I can't download it either. I was able to download the last update so I don't know what has changed. Let me know if you get a reply... | |

| Hi,
I got that email too he sent for the email problem. This is the 1st email I have got since 4/10/03 (which was the only other one for DL link to v3.3).
Maybe I will finally be able to update soon (Keeping fingers crossed...)
If one of you has emailed him regarding this - Thank you! |
