#1 | | Guest | Best Buy Circuit City Doing Away with NX70 and NZ90?????? I have been calling around today on this and both Best Buy and Circuit City have listed the NX70 and NZ90 for clearance. None of them knows why they were put on clearance, but all said they are no longer carrying them. The only thing I could get out of one of them was that they were not being discontinued for product defects.
They were all very clear, they are no longer carrying them. I think this warrants better investigation. Anyone have the verifiable scoop? | |

| They might be making room for the new NX CLIEs. The NX70 is getting to be on the old side (6 months = old).
As for the comment on product defects . . . I think the person was misinformed. I've known a few people who have worked at Best Buy, and they've often told me about the employers not paying attention and spreading the wrong information.

Anyone have the verifiable scoop? | I agree with tick . . . stores usually get rid of old models when new ones come out . . . the new ones have been announced for a while now, why are you so shocked BB will not be carrying older models?

| Hmm, I have had this feeling something else is coming to replace the NZ90.
Did BB get tired of replacing Clies as upgrades?

| Rumor is that Sony is eliminating the NZ90 form factor.
As for Best Buy, I doubt they're going to eliminate Sony Clie's. |

| I'd have to imagine the NZ90 was a failure...I don't believe many people bought something that large and expensive with such a tiny screen. Was probably a device to see if they could build it how would it work.
I agree that the NX line is probably on clearance to make way for new stuff. |

| I want to know what the details are on the new T series unit. If it has 15MB free I'm there.
I need to replace my T-615, the battery dies fast. I have the Best Buy service plan but there are no sony units on the market that have 15MB free like mine has other than the sj series but they don't have the enhanced IR like the T-615.
Sony has been going in the wrong direction with a few features lately, and I fear the new unit will be more of the same: 16MB only 7MB usable, virtual graffiti but with a 1.5 hour battery, and an electric toothbrush/nightlight.
I hope I'm wrong. Please Sony if your reading this get back to giving users more usable PDA features instead of a swiss-army style half-breed. |

| I've been using my old T615 lately because my NR70 screen is dead and waiting new CLIEs before I buy a new machine.
I really enjoy the T615 size and basic form factor. It's not perfect by any means -- battery life is really poor -- but it is a nice, one handed machine easy for reading ebooks, etc. I find the NR70 really big and bulky.
So far, the PDA with wifi, bluetooth, MP3, small form factor, decent battery life, and a decent keyboard or 320/480 has not been produced. Right now, you have to pick and choose between these capabilities. |
