Hi, I like my clie but has been the case that I have lost information because the battery drains all, seems like It power on for a reminder and keeps that way until dies or maybe a button is accidentally pushed in my pocket and this causes power un until dies even to a point I loose everything.
Are there any software or enhacements that force the clie to stay off and only notifies for a reminder and then shut off again after some period of time ?

 | have u tried using the hold slide switch on the left side? you can also set the clie to turn off after about 1 min of no use in the preferences utility. |

| Alarm drains battery even with unit off
Actually I have had the very same problem! If an alarm activates, it somehow drains the battery even with the unit turned off. This has happened consistently. My auto-off is set for 1 minute, but that doesn't matter since the unit is off anyway. Somehow the alarm runs in the background and drains the battery. I would like to use my alarms, however. Any solutions here? Wonder if turning the "hold" switch on whenever turning the unit off would make a difference, I'll have to try it but what a pain. If anyone has any insights I would appreciate them!!  | |

| See if StayOffHack helps. Also, are you getting alarms from the standard datebook, or something like DateBk5 or Agendus? How about what kind of alarms you're using? Vibrating? LED? WAV/MIDI files?

| Well I checked and the alarm LED setting was toggled "on" , so I just toggled it to "off". Does it flash even if the unit is turned off (I never noticed)? I can't figure what else could drain the battery with the unit off. I do use DateBk5 and Happy Days. Any other thoughts? | |

| Is your Clie in your pocket or purse? If so, something may be pressing against the screen, keeping it on. I had this problem with older Palms and early on with my T-615C, but I found a case at www.thepocketsolution.com It has a small piece of foam to protect the screen, but doesn't touch the screen without a lot of pressure being applied to it. | |

| Well actually the problem occurs even if the unit is not in a pocket (for example lying flat) and seems to have nothing to do with a button being accidentally pushed. The problem seems to be strictly with the "alarm" draining the battery. | |

| I have my Clie to auto off and I regularly uses the alarm feature. I did notice that the LED would stay on if there is an alarm but the unit will be off. Needless to say it was drain on the battery. Keeping the vibrate and LED feature off for alarm solved my problem. It beeps once and that is it.
I do have another problem kind of related to this. Anyone seen this or know what to do about it?
I have my Clie set to lock up at the end of the day and
it requires a password to access the unit next time the unit is turned on. If there is an alarm event before or after the Clie locks up and it is not acknowledged, next time when I turn the unit ON it requires the password to be typed in. When I hit DONE after typing in the password it turns the Clie OFF. If you turn it ON again and punch in the password you can access the Clie. This only happens if there is an unacknowledged event and the unit locks up at the preset time. If the alarm was acknowledged before the unit locks, all is well. If there wasn't an alarm and the unit locks up, you can turn it on the first time you type in the password.
