| Fast Forwarding Problem using AudioPlayer I used to store my MP3's on my MemoryStick 128, and fast forwarding and rewiding worked fine. Now since I bought the CF Driver and a 512MB Sandisk CF card, I'm having problems with fast forwarding and rewinding.
What happens (and this ONLY happens whilst holding down fast forward and rewind on the REMOTE CONTROL), is that the track gets stuck in fast forward mode and keeps fast forwarding until I do a soft reset! For this to occur I have to hold down the button for a number of seconds, until it begins to fast forward, super quick.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem, so to determine whether it's a problem with the driver itself, or whether it's actually a problem with my CF Card?
The problem occurs with both Driver Version 1.0 and 1.1.2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| Just tried the same thing with my Integral 512mb - no problems at all. If I keep the FF pressed for around 5-10 seconds then the Clie takes a few seconds to catch up, but it does after a few seconds and continues playing.
I don't have cache on (if I do Audioplayer is useless) nor slow mode.
Maybe its the card type?

| I also don't use cache or slow mode, so dunno why it doesn't work?
I'm guessing it most be the CF card?
If anyone else has a Sandisk 512MB CF card, could you possibly try it, to see if you get the same problem as me.
Cheers

i want to isolate the problem more before i give my conclusions, but all i can tell you is that the audio player would always crash with my 1 gig sandisk after just a minute or so, and i just got up (here in san diego, ca) after leaving the audio player running all night with no crashes on 180 mp3's
so i've found a way to get rid of my problem with crashes in the audio player...
right now i can't state exactly what type of corruption in the mp3 caused this, but i have a way to process all my mp3's so it stops happening...
the software i am using is mp3doctor, and it is not free... $22 ... |
The above statement was posted in another forum. Perhaps this might help.

The MP3s never crash, unless I hold down fast forward as stated. I also don't believe it to be a problem with the MP3s themselves because the problem didn't exist using the same MP3s on my 128MB Memory Stick.
But thanks for that anyway.

| there is more.... eddy quoted my post
on of the symptoms of "bad" mp3 files is weird operation, like when going to the next track, it skips a track and goes one further, there are also double beeps when this happens... i've also seen where you cannot back up one track, it is "stuck" ...
this sounds similar to your problem...
