| [FREE] [BETA] BtSpeaker http://www.palmpowerups.com/priv/BtSpeaker2.prc **BETA**
Run this on a OS5 device with bluetooth
While it's running, your device will act as an A2DP sink (meaning you can stream music to it over bluetooth). Plug it into some speakers and you get a cheapo-Jambox
Free for you all, for old times' sake
(This will not work too well on the T|E2 since it runs its BT UART too slow to work in a good quality). Tested with T|X and LifeDrive <-> Android & iPhone
I suggest making device discoverable in preferences

| I'm planning on trying this on my T|X tonight when I get home. I have not logged into this site since June of 2009. I noticed the tweet regarding this new PalmOS app so I figured ill try it. Its been awhile and I dont sync my T|X to a pc anymore. Can I install this via wifi using email or browser?
So I just copy it over using SD card but cant connect with my Palm Pre. When I try it with my Touchpad I only see it when I select "other" but doesnt stream any audio.
Ok I was able to connect using my Win7 pc, but when I start media on pc I still dont hear any audio. On my T!X I now see audio details (sampling rate, subbands, etc) but bytes and packets are 0.

| make sure you do NOT pair with RX until app is running. very important.
run app and only then pair. if you already did, unpair on both sides and retry. i tested with android(gingerbread, ICS, jellybean) and iOS(4, 5) devices as well as linux

| I unpaired them and started app and still cant get it to work. On the netbook I have used BT before to connect BT mouse and headset. The status on the netbook for this looks good, its connected and shows audio sink under properties. Any ideas? I do have another notebook I can try it on. |

| Hi Dimitry,
before I start playing with this app on my venerable PDA. I wish to know if this app works on a Sony Cliè PEG-TH55 model (PalmOS 5.2.1), the European version I own has Bluetooth.
Regards.

| The TH55's BT is horrifically slow so I suspect it will struggle unless the bitstream is really low-rate...! |

| windows by defaults does not support A2DP properly...you need to install custom drivers (it's been written about on the web a lot: https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+7+a2dp ). BT headset not same as BT speakers (one is mono and bad quality, other is stereo and good quality). Headset drivers, I think, come with win7. a2dp drivers do not

| I'll try to check for that driver when I get home. Anyone able to get this to work with the Touchpad? I believe the Touchpad supports A2DP. |

| Ok, pretty cool, it does work for me. Loaded it on my TX and it's receiving from my Optimus One Android phone. I already have my TX loaded with a 32gb sd card and loads of music, but I wanted to have the ability to use a remote with it for skipping or pausing. I wasn't able to do that yet, so I could see this doing what I was hoping for. I'll check out quality tomorrow when everybody is awake in the house!
Thanks Dmitri. |
