| Who uses the freeware app MessageEase Keyboard? I've just installed this application onto my NR70 and it seems pretty nice. I've run into one crash while testing it in Wordsmith, but am giving it another try. If you use or have tried this software, what type bugs have you ran into and what are your praises regarding it? |

| I've been trying it out off and on, not really seriously. But haven't had any problems with it on my T665 in the Palm OS programs (datebook, memopad), Agendus, Smartlist (ThinkDB), but it doesn't seem to activate in Docs to Go -- I get the standard qwerty keyboard instead. Doesn't crash it tho.
It's taking me a while to find the uncommon letters but I have noticed that even with the limited time I've fooled with it (I'm definitely NOT training myself on it), it's becoming much easier. I know there are folks on Cliesource who use the stamp - one thing I like about the hack is that the graffiti area isn't covered and you can go down to it immediately for any of your shortcuts.
The stamp would be more attractive, tho, if one already knew all the keystrokes.
I use Tealscript and have some oft-used phrases in a form of shorthand in it that no other program (or keyboard) will beat, so I appreciate being able to use graffiti too.

| I do use it :-)
Yes, playing around will take you a couple of days to learn the key-layout, but then you will enter text painless and fast, real fast. If I pay attention sometimes I can be quicker than handwriting.
I have seen many different input methods and for the use I give to my Palm, after 4 years using it, I will continue.
If you have a newer Palm some concrete models may reboot if installed incorrectly, but it is not complicated to get it working. |

| I use the MessageEaseST app on my TH55. That is the VG replacement program and I think that it works very well.

x2
Though after a year, I still need to look to find some letters (oddly enough, the large letters). I attribute that to age. But even with knowing the position of the letters, I still have to look at the screen for accurate placement of the stylus. If I don't look, within a few or five or ten letters I'm hitting or stroking a wrong letter or two. That part isn't age, I don't think. It seems just the effect of having all those letters in a small area.
Having said that, I use it over Decuma or Graffiti 2. Faster and more accurate than those two when I look at the screen. (With Graffiti 1, I don't need to look at the screen as much.) |

What you said. That all goes ditto for me too. However, I just bought it a month ago so I'm going to give myself a little slack.

| The version that is known as MessagEase STamp is shareware, the one that comes up on the screen is free. The stamp version also allows saving of text to given locations (& not just a few) & macros, letter re-association & is quite cool.
You can even use reverse circles around the large letters (ANI...etc) to get the corresponding number - b/c there is location 'sympathy'. If the spot that corresponds on letter or number side is empty, then you can use the tap/gesture to invoke the letter/number/symbol in the corresponding opposite side i.e. if you place stylus on 'S' & drag up (nothing is assigned to space above the S), you get the '&' which is assigned to the corresponding opposite spot, i.e. the & is above the 9 over on the number side
Been using it for years & is 2nd nature....
