Lightbulb Powerdrive recovery SD card

Hello,

my first post here but I'm reading this forums since the moment I bought my LifeDrive and find it very useful to improve my knowledge of Palm devices. Since than I upgraded my LD with 16GB compact flash and recently failed editing a rom using nuRom.

Now my device is in reset loop. I found all possible info about how to recover my device and since I have powerdrive bootloader installed I think the easiest way to recover is using special recovery SD card. The fact is however that I lost the one which was created during powerdrive partitioning procedure.

I've mailed Dmitry Grinberg who confirmed that I could recover using SD card but no files or directions given to me for what files to put on SD card and how to boot with it.
I know that this subject discussed in another thread but no clear reply given there. Since there is a growing interest in this for Powerdrive users I think it would be appropriate to start a thread concerning this subject.

Now I ask you the members of this wonderful forum to help me with this issue.

P.S. Also I don't have MicroDrive to repartition using it and the other possible solution for me could be manually installing Palm OS with linux command line tool.

And in this case I'm interested could I use 16GB Transcend 133x card for this method or I need 4GB compact flash or MD?

Best Regards,
Ruslan

You can send a 4 gig CF to Short Tronics and he'll install Palm OS on it for you. Did it on a SanDisk Ultra II for me for $25 plus $2 return postage. (Of course would be more outside the USA.)

Have you tried a Secure Erase? The card I got back from Short Tronics had a corrupted Music folder that looked like a file. A Quick Erase didn't fix it but Secure Erase did.

You'll want to have the power cord hooked up because it still takes quite a while.

After I did the Quick Erase, it'd go to a blank screen with the default DIA showing after tapping Done. So I reset it, same thing. The Hotsynch button on the cable did nothing.

Reset it again then instead of Done I poked the Web icon. That worked, so I poked the Mail icon. That opened a box saying it needed to Hotsynch... Ah ha! I poked that and it synched and everything transferred back, but the corrupted Music folder was still there.

Did the Secure Erase then just went to Mail to synch. Corrupt folder replaced OK and all my stuff back except for what was on the "drive". (Just a couple of videos I have elsewhere.)
