| Trying to salvage SJ30 The battery on my SJ30 has not been holding a charge for very long. It was fully charged two days ago and not used since. When I turned it on this morning, the screen was on long enough for me to see the battery at 0% then went blank. I immediately put it on the cradle. I think I tried to do a soft reset too soon because I panicked when the screen stayed blank. Now it is fully charged, the backlight is off and the Palm Powered screen keeps flashing. Soft, warm and hard resets have not worked. I REALLY don't want to take the battery out because I haven't done a Hot Sync in 6 months, and I can't even find my old backups because we've transferred everything to a new computer. Should I let it charge overnight and pray for a miracle? My life is on this ancient PDA, and I can't even think about losing everything. |

| For backup you neet to hotsync, which is still possible if there is a residue charge and in a dock charging while hotsyncing.
Sadly not too many people change their batteries and report here at 1src about sj30. Battery supplies usually get old and may not be lasting as long as the original batteries.
I have tried to get more people to report their results but sadly there are not too many reports. I am starting to regret getting rid of my AAA battery sony Sl-10, but if the demand is here maybe more people will report on their sj30 battery experience.

| Thank you so much for your quick reply. The SJ30 is in the dock and I'm pretty sure is fully charged. I am showing my ignorance here, but how can I do a Hotsync without getting it to re-boot? Anyway, I can't get HotSync Manager to start on my PC even with the Palm Desktop for Clie open, so I have to solve that problem first.
I have an AC adapter that I keep at work, so will take home this evening to try a soft reset while it's plugged in there, instead of on the cradle. I figure as long as I don't do a hard reset there's a chance I can recover my data, because I know there was at least some small amount of charge left when I turned it on yesterday. |

LOL, my SL-10 is still in perfect condition. I use my for reading and some note taking with DTG or CardTXT. Still a good AAA powered device...

| I use a small piece of electrical tape to keep the door from opening. I tend to grab my Visor Deluxe first though.
