Opera Mini, string index out of range.

I got the Java installer from http://www.wegzumselbst.de/ and the j9secpol_fileconnect.prc so it'd quit asking for permission to connect, and I got the Opera Mini 4.1 opera-mini-4.1.10781-advanced-int.prc

Also have the Opera Mini 3 version the Opera site says works on the LifeDrive.

I've set the JVM preferences for both Opera versions to what has been posted several places. I've managed to get both versions to complete their initial setup and load their default home pages. But so far that's all Opera Mini 4.1 has been able to do, it blows up when I try to do anything else with it. I did get to Yahoo Mail *once* with 3, but it hung at 92% loading.

The problem is that if I'm lucky, I can get to enter ONE url and go to it, but most of the time it doesn't work. It's been completely impossible to add any bookmarks because it acts up like this...

I enter the first character, then the second, but it replacesthe first one with the second and when I make the backspace stroke it pops up a String index out of range: error message with a number, usually either 6 or 2.

I just want to be able to get to Yahoo Mail, that's all! It'll work with Blazer, but the way the WAP/mobile version of Yahoo Mail's site works is extremely tedious to use, especially the inability to select and delete multiple e-mails, and how it won't just go to the next message after deleting the one I'm reading.
