PalmPDF questions

Looking around to solve another issue and found PalmPDF. Installed fine but it does not "see" the 5 or 6 .pdf files that are already on my T/X. I still have Adobe Reader for Palm OS installed and can open the files with it. Do I need to remove Adobe? Have I missed something really obvious like need to do a reset after the install? Do I need to reinstall the files to the T/X? Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to move the original PDF files to an SD card. Adobe Reader does not put PDF files on your Palm, it converts them first.

Thanks!

I figured it would be something simple like that. Appreciate the help.

Also, it's best to put the files in the Palm/PalmPDF folder on the SD card. The program will look first in that folder. You don't have to put them there but it saves you from browsing for the files.

That did it

Just tried it and I'm looking at one of the files right now. Way better than Adobe. Thanks again!

Isnt D2G a slow pdf reader? How big pdf files are you using?

If you have Mobipocket Reader you can use it to convert PDFs to Mobipocket format before syncing them to the Palm. The conversion works pretty well and you don't have to wait for individual pages to load on the PDA, but if I remember correctly it can only convert text, not images, tables etc.

PalmPDF will convert pdf text to palin old text that can be read with eReader or many other text readers. It is also fast that way.

The reason I won't use DTG 11 is that it is so slow compared to DTG 7. It won't show as many columns or rows as nicely either. I cannot format an entire row or column as I can with v7. But the topper was when it trashed a spreadsheet. Maybe others have better luck with it than I do but for pdfs I use PalmPDF and convert them to plain text.
