| TH-55 does not turn on. Please help!!! My loyal TH-55 "died" unexpectedly this Sunday. I used it normally on Friday and when tried to turn it on today it simply did not show any life sign.
I tried to recharge and to do a soft reboot to no avail.
Anyone had a similar problem and have any ideas of what I can try?
I also have some backups in my memory stick (unfortunately, not recent). Is there any way to recover the Memory Stick backup directly to the Palm Desktop?
Thanks much in advance!

| You may try to put the TH55 sit on the docking, then try to turn it on. If ok, that meant the battery suddenly dead. |

Thanks! I kept trying that and this weekend got a life sign again. After a full reset if started working as nothing had ever happened.
The strange part is that I did not install anything new or did any change in the settings. Just added a new note. It would simply not turn on.
Luckily I had a relatively recent backup so did not lose much.
However, one problem still continues. Since I had not synchronized with my PC at the same time I did the MS backup the latest backup was in my Memory Stick.
So, in the case of a total failure of the TH-55, is there a way to recover what is in the Memory Stick backup?
Any software around to do that?

| You can restore the MSBackup from your dead TH55 to another TH55. Simply by putting the MS to new TH55, make a backup of your new TH55 with the old MS then copy and paste all the files in the old TH55 MSBackup to the new TH55 MSBackup. I've restored TH55 RAM several times this way when repairing TH55 with broken motherboards.
If you want me to fix your dead TH55, just PM me.
Best wishes in 2009!

Hello DanT,
Sorry for the delay on posting an update and thanks much for your kind offer.
I finally managed to make it come back to life by doing a hard reset. Don't know why it simply locked in a "dead" status. First time it ever happened.
Luckily my backup was up to date so I did not lose anything. However, it made me worried because if it really fails we are "dead on the water" since it appears there's no way to restore a MS backup directly to the desktop application (critical lacking feature).
So an idea for a nice application if something that can read the backup files in the MS and restore them to the Palm Desktop.
In time. I bought a Nokia N800 more than one year ago. Despite being flawless in terms of wireless networking, Internet navigation, checking other web-related stuff and multimedia, it still does not lit a candle to my TH-55 as a PIM. Also recently got a LG VU phone. Nice "critter" but still far away from replacing my TH.
So, have anyone found anything that can replace the TH-55? It has been like the Holy Grail Quest.
By the way. My camera died. Any spare cameras to replace it?
