| Not surprising though; the two devices have different drivers. |

Not really as they both should be SD drivers, but you're right in that they are from different sources. You would think if they both are coded against the standard (my SD card can be read in other SD devices) that it should also work with the T3 SD driver. |

| Hi,
This is great news. Thanks Dmitry!
I've tested this on my old "backup" T3 (recently purchased a replacement on Ebay). It works fine, plan to move ahead and use it on my main T3.
I do have one question. If there are problems with it, how does one restore the original driver and get back to pre- T3 big card status
Is there an original driver file that should be backed up first?
Thanks
Paul |

| this driver is in ram
delete to restore original
but there shouldnt be any problem
this IS original with a few bytes changed [40 or so]
in fact you can replace original with this one in rom

| Great news, as I found a 4G card that works in my T3 now! It's a Transcend 4G SD card, and with the fat32 driver, it appears to work fine. I'm planning on doing some more intensive testing tonight.
Thanks again Dmitry. I now have a T3 - TomTom, Music, and books device to go along with my BB Curve. |

| Which Transcend are you using? I tried the 133x and its not working. There's also a 150x and another lower end model.
@dmitry:
What is the best/ easiest way to move this and FAT32 to ROM? I tried JackFlash but it wont overwrite the original copy in ROM. I thought of ROM Crafter but I've yet to try it. |

It is the cheap, "economy" version TS4GSDC. It may not be very fast, but it does allow my T3 to use the full 4G, so it's a good tradeoff. FYI, I had this laying around from my previous use with TX, so it didn't cost me anything to get for the T3 since I purchased it some time ago. |

Hi Dmitry,
At the risk of appearing stupid, I assume the T3bigcard prc file is the wrapper for the driver(s) as I can't find the file after installation. Could you please let me know what the driver file name(s) are that would need deleting to restore the original. This is just info for "storing away for a rainy day" in the event that I ever needed the information, rather than related to any present problems.
One other question while I'm here is that I have this file working on my T3 without using your Fat32 driver, and I haven't been able to determine what the Fat32 driver would add in terms of benefits to using your T3bigcard driver (i.e. should I be using it). Would be much appreciated if you could briefly clarify this or point me in the direction of where I could find this out. Thx.
Thanks

no, it's the original driver with a few modifications Quote: | Originally Posted by pae I assume the T3bigcard prc file is the wrapper for the driver(s) Could you please let me know what the driver file name(s) are that would need deleting to restore the original. |
you cannot delete it easily
you need to find it in fileZ and mark as "recyclable"
then reset
it will disappear Quote: | Originally Posted by pae One other question while I'm here is that I have this file working on my T3 without using your Fat32 driver, and I haven't been able to determine what the Fat32 driver would add in terms of benefits to using your T3bigcard driver (i.e. should I be using it). | I think I'll lay this one to rest also.
Im having problems w/ all 4GB non-SDHC cards - including one that works for others. Im not sure if its the version of FAT32 that Im using (final from site) but I dont imagine the older versions would work.
Oh well! Ive gotten just about everything out of this T3 over the years. The GSM Pre should bring back the joy. |

| I was some time really happy with the new SD driver. But now I'm really down, because I just found out, that it doesn't work with the Palm WiFi Card...
It doesn't matter if the Big card driver is installed first or the WiFi driver. Obviously because of the replacement of the SDIO components. It's still possible to get connections, but then nothing happens. If the WiFi driver is installed over the Big cards driver it's still possible to read the 4 GB card (with help of the FAT32 driver), but writing is impossible.
Needless to say that I would need the write capability AND WiFi together... It's no option to do always a hard reset (which is needed for the WiFi driver) and do all the installations again and again. That's a quite deep fall for me, after the working 4 GB card in the beginning.
Is there any chance to get both working together? |
