| Still use NX80 daily I purchased a refrib NX80 in 2004 and used it until the digitizer didn't work properly. It still works but is annoying because I have to go through the calibration every time I use it. So a couple of years ago I purchased another used NX80 and use it every day.
My daily or occasional use includes:
- Address book
- Free Cell (over 11K games played)
- Bible
- Dictionary
- Calculator
- Alarm |

| I know what you mean. I wore out my first one about 3 years ago (which I'd bought new) which I replaced with a second hand one from eBay. With all the software and system extensions I've accumulated over the years, moving off to anything else is daunting.

| While the NX80 is falling behind in technology I've had quite a few chuckles along the way as new smart phones come to market with features the NX80 has had for a long time. I have converted over 100 DVD movies to the NX80 format to use on trips where I don't want to take my laptop, used the infrared remote until technology moved on and it no longer works on many models. I was able to surf the net with the CF WiFi card years before any smart phones had that feature.
I've looked for a smart phone that would replace the NX80 but haven't found one yet. I don't consider the iphone due to the lack of the keyboard. Perhaps the pre is the one that will finally replace my NX80. |

Up to a point I agree, only in recent times have "smart" phones started to rival the features standard on the Clie. Still looking at the iPhone, as it has matured since it's first appearance. As to the keyboard, on my NX70, the only time I use the keyboard is when I'm playing with my Apple][ emulator.
The big show stopper for me with the iPhone is its lack of graffiti (or similar input system). Using a keyboard (virtual or real) is a pain to me.

| Here is a link for Battery Ship for a battery for NX-80: http://www.batteryship.com/htmlos/h...l=Clie+PEG-NX80
I tried to do a battery thread but no one seems to report back how well they were treated and what results did they have with their batteries. Anyway I have not used this link or this company and your results may vary.
There is a Mr. Chon who sells batteries in Hong Kong. You'd have to ask him if he has any stock available. I know Dan T is happy with batteries obtained for a TH-55, but this battery may or may not be available from him.

| Thanks so much for the link to Battery Ship. I just now ordered a new battery from them. Crossing my fingers that it is good as they promise and that I indeed can install it .
I will post here later on my results. I would really like to keep my Nx80v running because it is in perfect condition. I tend to baby my electronics! |
