Motion apps releases Q&A session:

Washington Post notices that Motion apps released a Q&A session on sunday April 12:
http://motionapps.blogspot.com/2009/04/classic-faq.html
Sad to read that Two palm classics programs can't run at the same time and that there will be a virtual SD card used in the New Pre.

It seems to me that WebOS itself doesn't do multitasking either. I quote: "The design of webOS is such that it allows only a single instance of a given application to be run at a time."

It'd be nice if they started posting a list of apps that work and those that won't. I wonder if Styletap will launch an emulator for webOS anyway to compete with MotionApps 'Classic'

I think it may vary by application. I believe I saw multiple instances of the web browser running. At any rate, some apps on the PC only allow one session as well. The fact that the apps remain live in the background is evidence enough for me. I am real happy with Classic as it will make the transition a little easier.

the choice of "motionapps" as the party to create this app and to get the full sdk strikes me as a very misinformed one, and i hope it backfires, and i expect it will

I agree it does seem an odd choice. They are not "the" company known for Palm OS emulation. Perhaps it was a decision based on a relationship or control issue. I bet StyleTap plAys their own game.

My guess is that this isn't emulation in the way StyleTap is, but that they've got a license from ACCESS for Garnet, and what they're selling is a recompile of Garnet for WebOS target, akin to the Windows build of Garnet ("Palm Simulator").

Indeed palmuse, multiple instances of the same app does not define multi-tasking. "The fact that the apps remain live in the background" does comprise part of the definition.

As you said, Windows does multi-task, but ever try to run more than one instance of Outlook?

I think this Q&A is bad news overall and I'll wait for DGOS instead.
At the speed Palm is moving dmitry will have DGOS out prior to the Pre launching.
They are so bad advertising that when thay launch it is going to late!
Too bad!

LOL! You're probably right. I'm holding out for DGOS as well. I am looking forward to rebuilding my device both software and hardware (a bit of wear and tear over the years).
