Hey,

Thanks for the feedback and the fdindings. I will take a look at the reset issue. No it is never too late. I will look into the vibrate suggestion. Great suggestion. It may not make it to the release 1.0 (very soon!) but I will try to include it into 1.1


I am VERY interested in your experience with the promotion module. Do you think is too fast/easy to get promoted? Any info will be great since I have really limited time to actual play with the game myself

In term of avoiding missiles in the "hard mode" it is VERY difficult indeed. The missile in that mode travel at Mach 3! You usually travel a little pass Mach1 so it is not a fair fight. I usually use these tactics" but with very small amount of success.

1- I try to turn around and put the missile behind me so my speed difference with the missile is helping. This only works if the missile is relatively far away. Then I count on the missile losing energy and goes away (a great feeling!)

2- If I I am very close then I dive toward to get max speed and at the last minute pull off. Does not work most of the time but it is cool!

The only great way to escape a Mach 3 traveling missile is to be on the alert and start praying that the missile is a short range one!

In reality, F-16 fighters have decoys to help them avoid most SAM's I am hoping in future version to add flares (limited amount) that would reduce the probability of getting hit. Maybe version 1.1 or 1.2! Until then "hard combat mode" will be more a less a suicide mission! Also remenber SAM defenses strengh depends on the type of targets. "Nuclear" sites having the most SAM batteries. Take that into account when you choosing your battle!

ps: By the way you can change your call sign. It does not have to be "ViperOne" If you change it, the game will save the new call sign. FYI

I know I can change the call sign, but that's not important.
Well about promotion, first time when I got used with flying the jet, it was a hard thing to achieve ! By the way, the promotions were made only playing ag stike (no sam) hard mode with wind and failures, and I played only the missions with nuclear and factory for more points ! But I don't think promotion is easy !
What is the maximum number of promotions ?

I think it is up to 10 promotion level (top = **** General) I will level the promotion module as is for now. If you feel that it is too easy at one point let me know.

It seems that there are 10 ranks and 9 promotions. After I promoted to the biggest rank (General), it keeps promoting me to General ! So I gues the promotions never stop ?
Maybe you should make promotion 100 or 200 points harder !
I think the game needs a pause button, because when I exit a mission it seems that the jet is still flying on its own, and when I resume the jet tends to crush !
It still resets sometimes when I exit the game without finishing the mission !
The "out of bound" error is still annoying me and I must perform a reset !

And another thing, sometimes the jet moves slow and other times moves fast ! Like in a missions when I press left or right it turns only 10 degrees and the jet moves slower (this is easier to finnish the mission) and in other missions sometimes it turns 90 degrees and the jet moves really fast (this makes it almost impossible to strike a target), and this with the same game settings ! Why is the speed of the game is so different from one mission to another ?

soooo sorry for the delay. For the last few days I was unable to get back in the forum!

WOW that REALLY impressive. **** General!, 100's of missions..

1-You are right, there is an issue with the last promotion. I never made it that far so i did not see it. Thank you so much for pushing the game to it's end. I will look into the promotion issue.

2- I have recently "mess" with the flight control system so the roll rate will depend on the current roll angle. I did that so when the jet is almost level, then the command to the ailerons is low so you can more easily keep the jet level. If in the other hand you roll angle is already then, then the same command on the stick (D-pad left/right) would have the normal response (faster) I probably need to work on the angle range when the response is slow.

3- You are right in term of promotion. It maybe too easy at higher ranks as it is. In the upcoming version the mission score will count less and less toward the promotion points so it will make harder and harder to reach the high ranks. At this time, you need the same amount of extra promotion points to get a promotion. That 's do not make much sense. It should harder to get promoted as you progress.


I am very sorry for the long silence. I was hoping to send the version 1.0R (release version!) to you guys but I am struggling yet again with a series of resets issues) I really want to release a version with the minimum of issues so I am stuck until I figure out why the resets are happening (including the one you point out which happens to me time to time)

Once again congrats on your great game play. I should probably call you "SIR" now since I am still a Captain!

Great job - nowhere near General just wanting to get to Major. Cant wait for the final release. BTW I have not had a single reset now for probably 3 months

Hello guys. Yes that is an impressive Air Force career! (to both since I am still a Captain) For my defense I am spending more time messing around with the code than actually flying full missions. Thanks Hagakure, I just wanted to ask since it is your screen shots. By the way what are you using to do screenshot?

I find and resolve (I hope) the issue with jet crashing when you start a new mission (and the jet seems to continue flying even after you quit) I am also working on limiting the promotion to **** General. I know what to do about that. Shortly I will send version 1.0R which is the release version. Once you guys get it out for a spin and if there is no big issue, I will remove the R and release as is!

It has been a very frustrating 2 years! Many time in the last few months, I wanted to just scrap the project (since it seemed that anytime I touch the code, something else failed... story of app dev!) Let's hope no big issues pop up in the upcoming release version!

Ver. 1.0R looks good ! Thanks MO ! No resets and no errors on my device !
I really don't like the left-right movement of the altitude scale (the beta angle), but I got used to it !
Anyway, I succeeded in completing a combat mission (take-off, destroyed 2 Nuclear, and landed) ! Easy mode with wind and failures enabled ! But there was a small problem, when I was trying to land the ILS bars disappeared towards the right side and that confused me but in the end I managed to land without seeing the ILS bars !
