| Chastreo,
Posting on mytreo.com has happened a couple of times, & it would be pushing it too much; one heavy MTDN heavy hitter has heard of Apt so much that others are saying not to mention Apt to him....
1.3 is coming, but some features, requested by a number of users, to have press 'n hold of Treo Option key, & have it in conjunction w/the 4 h/w keys &/or letters... to launch/trigger Apt actions... is not ensured....

| yuppers on that, but DickieD & his oversaturation is indicative of the point of diminishing returns....
Pent did ask for that type of thing, when 1.0 came out; now, we have to find other ways. I feel awful for him, such brilliant programming & dedication to user input... & it hasn't paid off for him the way it should.... & of course, for us users.
Hey, I even saw someone in a MTDN thread say exactly what I told Pent when I got my Centro; due to other 3d party apps eating up trigger combos, we really need Apt to use Press 'n Hold (for 1,2, or 3 seconds) of Option key in conjunction w/the 4 h/w keys & / or letters... maybe if he did it anyway, it would help to make Apt the leader in Treo s/w effectiveness improvement...
Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer, so I can't say if the press 'n hold for 1,2,3 seconds of Option key, together w/the 4 h/w keys, or letters, or Shift, or Alt key & those other combos for that matter, it should make for an explosion of productivity on my Centro & everybody's Treos....

Thanks!! Yes, it took a bit of time, but once I started understanding the functions better and getting the neat suggestions, it wasn't bad at all.
I wonder if this (as well as other killer customizing apps for the Palm) was around in their hey day, would this have increased the Palm's popularity?
I love my old LifeDrive mainly because of the various apps that's been developed right here as of late. |

| Too late to the game I concur.
Once you figure it out, it really is a super nice application. After being directed to Apt on this forum just last week, I happily bought it, but unfortunately(and I wish it weren't true), as JavaJiveJump alluded to, the hey days of Palm seem to have waned - Palm please prove us all wrong.
Apt is a very powerful application, almost too powerful for those new to the Palm OS. Palm vets can appreciate its power, while newbies have a learning curb just trying to figure out and get accustomed to the pre-installed Palm programs. What newbie knows instinctively that they need a macro?
Those of us who frequent this forum are undoubtedly interested in the capabilities of such an application, but I for one wished it would have debuted about 4 years ago. Again, I registered it, and I would encourage all true Palm fans to do so as Apt takes the Palm OS to a whole new level - and I've been Palm-ing since the Palm III.
FWIW, the missing/not included hold Option button feature almost caused me to not register this program, but the beauty of Apt is that it is sooo flexible in what it can do, I was able to make it do what I needed w/o using that particular button.

| Easter Egg Taxi Hey, does anyone know how to program Apt to call this little guy at will?
It's still neat to randomly see after all these years, but I'd like to make it into a screen saver kind of thing if possible.
Thanks!! |

Which device are you using? Basically, if the driver is it's own app, & not a pdb, or library that interacts w/the OS, you would use the functionality of the Events section, using the Wake trigger, for when the device wakes up & then, again, if sdhc driver is an app you would enter "App" & then the filename...
It would look like this: Wake App DriverAppName
You would do a similar thing w/the card... using the Event-> Mount command.
Check out the top lines of Apt's wiki found here: apt-palm.wikidot.com
it gives you the equivalent of documentation, in easily accessible sections....

| I haven't found a way myself, but does anybody know of a way of passing a virtual character using Apt? For example, in Netfront, I would like to set the center nav button on my TX to an "enter" keypress, as the usual selector doesn't work. I was able to set the enter keypress to HB2 using MyKbd, but can't figure out how to do it in Apt, which would be more preferable because Apt lets me set options for the selector key... ??

| Hey Supertrucker~ I do not use Netfront myself, but I thought I might make a suggestion. You may have tried this already, but here goes...
Under 'Buttons' tab..
[0]Cntr | Pen Txt {character here}
I do not know if there is a character that Netfront recognizes as "enter". If you are trying to send a "return" like from myKbd, I would not know how to do that.
If there is a menu item that does the "enter" (like "Go" or something?) for you could try this...
[0]Cntr | Ctrl Menu {menu # here}
Not sure if this helps or not. I know I was able to use regular letters in Opera Mini to virtually press the "Back" button (Txt j) I just messed around with the keyboard a bit and found it by accident. I know that pTunes also has hidden letters that make virtual presses (ex. forward/backward). Do not know about Netfront tho.
Hope this helps.

| In mykbd I was able to just simply enter an "enter" keypress in the macros for hb2, apt only lets you enter single line characters (at least that I can figure out) so it can't recognize a generic enter keypress. I take it there is no way to tell it to spit out a virtual character? |

Duke, as I'm sure I mentioned b4, to use Apt triggers to launch something, it has to be either an app, da, or panel... the answer for running it fm an Apt trigger will also help to answer how to get the Mount command to load the driver when you insert the card...[/quote]
Please advise as to what kind of file the driver is, & I will try to help you further, but do take a look at the QuickTour /Examples/Tutorials along the left side of the Apt Wiki page apt-palm.wikidot.com & the Resources line on the top of the wiki page to research the kind of things you want to do on your TX.
Good luck, & welcome to the wonderful world of Apt!

Not sure about 'enter', but 'return' is backslash-r.

If there are other useful virtuals, let me know, they're easy to add.
Edit: if that doesn't work, perhaps 'enter' has a corresponding menu item/command bar item/control you could select with Apt ?
