| Ok, I began with a backup which was commented as Cycle 2. The comment.dat file contains 1Cycle 2.
I then edited the comment to be: AMuchLongerComment. Comment.dat contained 1AMuchLongerComment.
I then tried to edit it back to Cycle 2 by highlighting the entire comment and entering Cycle 2. Before I left the Edit details screen, it showed the comment to be Cycle 2, but when the main screen appeared after I exited, the comment there is Cycle 2ongerComment. Comment.dat contains 1Cycle 2ongerComment.
No matter what I do, the string is as long as the longest comment previously entered. New text at the beginning replaces the older text, but the older text that follows always remains.
If I delete comment.dat altogether, the comment disappears completely, and I can then enter a shorter comment without trouble. Comment.dat is recreated with the shorter version - 1Cycle 2.

- fix comment edit bug
- fix reset on unselect
- imported code from AtomClock: replaced TIME by SNTP protocol for atomic clock sync, and updated list of time servers

| Maybe you meant for this, but when I try to unselect a range, I get the dialog asking me to specify the range again. So if I select a-b to start, I have to enter a-b again to deselect. I'd rather unselecting the range just cleared the list.
No crash though.

You could just use the unselect all button, for that (isn't there one)?
I want to have this option, so you can do things like selecting all, and then deselecting f-j.

I neglected to mention before that I can confirm that the comment matter is cleared up in this version, for which I thank you also. I have no idea how long it was there - I discovered it quite by accident when trying to rename a set before I installed a new application and then trying to return to the original after I deleted the trial.

| Hooray!, this just made time sync work for me. It previously had never worked... this is probably because I have an uncommon network setup where I am behind a proxy that nobody really knows how to administer (that's why I never reported the problem).
But this new time sync runs just fine!
Thank you Alex, once again.
PS - I assume that when you don't comment on our feature requests, it means you read them, but you're not planning to implement due to lack of time/interest. This is fine with me... I totally understand it.

| Listing files by creator ID would require decompressing each file to check its creator ID. That would be too slow.

| Alex,
I was using 1.22b4 and everything seemed to be going fine when it stopped listing my backup sets. NVB starts then freezes with a blank screen. I got 1.22b4 to work before, but this has me stumped. I saw your release of b5 and will try that, otherwise I will try to revert to 1.21. EDIT: Just reverted to 1.21 and it made no difference. I guess my next step is to try to see if it is a card problem. EDIT2: After doing a chkdsk on my card (it found over 1500 file fragments) I checked NVB 1.21 and all sets came up. I reinstalled 1.22b5 and after a slight delay all sets came up (could it be because I have too many backup sets??).

| For the last two automatic cycles, since I installed 1.22b5, the comment for each backup set has been blank after the automatic backup completes. To be exact, I have seven sets of nightly automatic backups. I have commented them Cycle 1-Cycle 7. Those comments just disappear each night, and I am left with a backup with no comment at all. I can manually replace the label without trouble. It will take a week I suppose to know if once I have replaced the label it will persist after that.
If I manually update a set, the label does survive. A manual update brings up the comment screen with the comment itself highlighted, and I need to tap Continue to proceed. That step must obviously be skipped for automated backups. Edit: You know, as I think about this a little more, I can't really come up with any good reason to need to put comments on the backup sets that are in the regular cycle. The only really important information is the date, which is preserved. The disappearance of the comment is new to this version, but it really doesn't matter. Comments on sets that are not in the cycle and mark some particular event or configuration are another matter, but those sets aren't affected by this.

| Comments were probably supposed to disappear on automated backups (since after all the comments might get out of sync with the contents, if the contents were automated). It was probably a symptom of the bug that I fixed that they weren't disappearing.

| I often remove a "Cycle" backup from the cycle and add comments to archive it, so I like the comment (and especially Edit Comment) options. Tx. |

| That still works fine. You can remove a set from the cycle, add a comment, and you're set.

Right-click over the link and select "Save Link As".
(or "Save Target As" if you use that sorrow excuse for a browser, IE).
