| hi res/hi res+ games I am amazed at how many games are still being developed for low-res Palm devices. In fact it seems that very few games are being developed for hi-res and hi-res+ devices. Just go to PDArcade.com for example... 90% of the games being made seem to be for low res, no sound devices! I am a Palm user and will never go to PPC, but I must say PPC games blow nearly all Palm games out of the water!
I am not a game developer, but wouldn't it make sense to make "Flash" games, this way they could be played on both PPC and Palm OS... seems like you'd get more of the market share and have less programming if you only had to make one version of your game?
Anyway... guess I am just feeling a little dissapointed with the majority of Palm games...,
don't get me wrong there are a few companys out there pushing the envelope and creating hi res and hi res+ games... Astraware, Iombic, and Megasoft to name a few...
just my 2cents, what's your opinion?? |

| Try Aggression. It is a risk clone that has wonderful graphics and uses the hi-res+ screen in landscape mode. |

| If you look at PalmGear, HandanGo or PDAArcade - many games are still low-res for the simple reason that hi-res (and hi-res+) has been out for less than 18 months. This is a short period of time compared to the fact that Palm OS devices has been around for 5+ years.
There are a lot more hi-res games coming out these days, but they take a lot longer since the complexity of the games are growing.
Don't expect a lot of programs to handle hi-res+ since this is not a common format (only to Sony Clies). If you want a list of hi-res and OS5 ready games, have a look at CliePlanet http://www.clieuk.co.uk/cphires.shtml
Hope this helps!

| highres+ games are pretty rare, but I like:
Acid Solitaire
Acid Freecell
Highres 320X320 is much easier to find I like:
Shanghai (OS 5 version is amazing)
CrossLogic
Atom Smash
Monopoly
Scrabble
Ludo
Bejewelled
Crazy 8's
I personally don't think either the PPC or Palm OS is very good for action oriented games. For those I stick with my Game Boy Advance SP.

Is there a hi-res+ version of asteroids? I know Astraware had a color but non-high-res version, but they took it down because of copyright issues... |
