It is using a compressed domain transcoder technology (outline in Japanese). It converts FLV to MPEG4 faster and less lossy than a typical transcoder. When you submit a URL, it will download and convert to the video format, and then you can download the converted file. FLV to MPEG4 Conveter engine is now OpenSource. You can download the source code via subversion: http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=183657 For Windows users: Please install DivX to play DivX AVI. http://vixy.net/ Vixy.net Converter App for your PC (BETA): Windows application version is available now. It looks like this site and the usage is almost same as this site. It's free but with Ads. It's still in BETA so it will expire at 31 March, 2008. ____________________________ So basically it is downloading a Flv file and converting it to DivX or MPEG. Yes it seems simple but here is one statement from them:

Horation Registered User Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 5	I use a tool for downloading videos from youtube, Videoraptor, it's a cool soft as it converts the files directly into the formats I need. It supports formats for cellphone and ipod, too.

I'd like to download videos from metacafe anyone knows how?? I saw that there are many tools for downloading videos but only from youtube and not from other sites. So...

Hey, you should try Videoraptor cause as far as I know it downloads vids from metacafe too, there are many other websites where you can get videos from besides youtube.....

Horation Registered User Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 5	It's good cause you don't have to spend money on music, you pay just once the tool for downloading music and that's all. What I like most at this soft is that it has this feature which shows you the quality of the videos before you download it.
