| WiFi - WPA PSK WiFi - WPA PSK
My Lifedrive has WPA-PSK however I haven't been able to get it to connect to my new router. The LD will connect with WEP just fine, but not WPA.
Does anyone connect using WPA PSK? And if so, was it easy, difficult, or required some additional software or patch?
Thanks guys. |

| I connect to my home router via WPA without any problems. If anything the connection is more reliable than my laptop.

Then it may be a problem with my Belkin N Wireless Router F5D8233-4
(the gray one with two antennas)
Does anyone else have this router and the problem with not connecting via WPA PSK? |

I can't connect to my DLink DIR-655 via WPA PSK also. |

| Erm, i don't know much about WPA, but i think it may be time sensitive - is the router's time set to similar to the PDA? (I might be thinking of Kerberos here, so ignore me if so).
Another possibility is that the means of generating the keys (plural - IIRC WPA changes keys every n units of time, based on the initial seed value) may differ between implementations of WPA.
Would be a real PITA i know, but the difference between "WEP Password / Passphrase" and "WEP Key (ASCII) / WEP Key (HEX)" still seems to catch many folk out (the former seems to generate a static key from the variable length passphrase; trouble is there seems to be no standard way of doing so).
I also seem to remember that WPA can use either AES or TKIP for the encryption type - you could try changing this setting on your router and seeing what happens. |

| Sometimes I get to thinking that it may be a hardware issue, maybe a loose Wifi antenna inside the Lifedrive.
I currently have NO passwords--WPA or WEP--set (using Mac Address Control instead) and I still only am able to connect around 5% of the time.
Bluetooth is closer to 98% of the time.
Oh well. |

| It's not possible to use WPA - TKIP connection with the LifeDrive. Don't know why, but I know that there's an update that fix it for the TX: http://www.palm.com/us/software/esu/
If someone can make it work for the LifeDrive would be great!* |

Wi-Fi Enterprise Security Update for the Palm® TX handheld
Enjoy safe access to corporate networks with the Wi-Fi Enterprise Security Update (ESU) for the Palm® TX handheld. ESU lets the handheld connect to wireless networks protected by 802.1x-based security protocols.

Supports WEP, WPA Personal (PSK), WPA Enterprise and WPA2 Enterprise Authentication Methods:
• EAP-TLS • EAP-TTLS
• EAP-PEAP
(both PEAPv0 and PEAPv1) • LEAP
Encryption:
• WEP • TKIP
• AES-CCMP

So here is the link to download the updater: http://www.palm.com/us/support/down...x/txupdate.html But that's for TX only... Can someone (maybe dmitry) can see what files are modified and thus do the same for LifeDrive? |

| I would also like that more than anything!
I was trying to find a way to use this encryption methods on my LD, but there seems to be no way. I even wrote a mail to Palm and they said that the d onot plan to support LD anymore...
In the end I bought a TX and it is great.
But now that Dmitry has managed to find a way to increase a Size of the CF card, it would be nice if someone made this driver, it would be a great thing for LifeDrive!

| I have not had success using wpa either on my Belkin Share wireless router F7D3302. However, I was able to go into the router setup and establish the guest login, using WEP, and that allows my LifeDrive to login. Odd thing is, I still had to hit the WPS button on the front before it would connect....
I tried using the router's WPS button with the wpa but that didn't work. |
