Wi-Fi crashes when connecting

Hi,

I had my TX running fine, totally stable, connecting to Wi-Fi at home with no problems.

Then I configured my new laptop to Hotsync to this Palm TX using bluetooth. Created a new connection, Hotsync went fine (though it took ages, it had to transfer about 30 Mb to the PC).

Then I reset my Palm, tried connecting to Wi-fi and Bang! Soft-reset. Now it ALWAYS soft-resets when connecting, no matter what program I'm using it from (Blazer, Versamail, or simply connecting from the status bar wifi icon). It shows the "connecting" message, sometimes I even see the "Connected" message for a split second, then it crashes.

I tried deleting all Wifi connections, and setup my connection all over again, but nothing changed.

Any ideas? This is really worrying me...

Thanks in advance!

PS- I have the option to restore from NVBackup, but for some reason NVBackup only has backups from the 5th Jan, and from 8th Jan. I have it setup to backup daily at 3:00 AM, I don't know why I don't have the 6th and 7th of January, these would be my best options...

I have sometimes the same problem, that wifi when connecting goes to reset. So my sollution is may-be not solved as experted as it should be but it works
So first step is copy blazer from ROM to RAM, even if you have him already here, if this not help then I use flush-it! for cleaning the dynamic memory. again ifthis not help, I enable uncache and after reset I will have it again dissabled and reset again, and now it should work again great, at least for some time.

I don't think this should be related to Blazer and memory problems. I use MemUnfragment, so Blazer isn't getting loaded at startup. Then I get the reset without launching blazer at all, just connecting Wifi.

I also have OffFLush and I tried flushing at several points in this process, but nothing helps. It seems something got corrupted in the Wifi modules, or Wifi settings.

Thanks.

Use uncache or zip each one to see what fixes it. Long and arduous but "should" work

I think I had a problem like this but I don't remember the details sorry.

The solution for me was to go into the WiFi preferences and delete all the networks it found during previous network scans (yes, by hand, there were at least 50 for me). I only spared 3 networks I actually use and since then I use netchaser for "wardriving" instead of the standard wifi network scan.

Hope it helps, have a nice day.

I didn't get a chance to try your suggestions, because I decided to restore from NVBackup (which, of course, put my Palm back to top condition! Thank you Alex!).

After that, I tried setting up the Bluetooth hotsync again, but this time I kept away from Prefs-->Bluetooth-->Setup Devices, which looks like a very nice Wizard to help you set up your connections, but also looks like the culprit to this connection setup corruption...

i just went to Hotsync, selected "edit connections" from the drop-down list that has those "cradle/cable" and IR options; created a BT connection to a PC, and voilá! I have BT hotsync (a bit slow, I must say I'm disappointed, but at least it keeps the cable away from my desk).

Oh, and this did not mess up my Wifi, it works fine.

Thanks for everyone's input, anyway!

I also suffer this problem sometimes when i'm connecting to wifi but clearly problem is that the driver you are using it automatic saving the previous configuration so soft-reset alltime . So, please uninstall it then try with new one
