I don't really like to show off my NR70v. It always gets people's attention. I do however, take it out and use it when I REALLY need to. Sometimes I listen to MP3s in class with the CLIE closed and people don't even realize that it's a handheld organizer...

Oh yea! I've had quite a few comments about how there is no boot up, or shut down. When I let people play with it they hand it back to me still on and say "How do you turn it off?" I show them the giant power button on the top of the unit and tell them to press it. "Are you sure? You don't shut it down or anything?"

Then I'll have them turn it back on just to show that it comes right back where you left it. Blows them away every time.

I love using my NR70v in public (- I'm a chick, btw). Was on the R train going to class after work. Playing Bookworm and listening to mp3's. This guy sitting next to me was looking at my NR with a bit of distain, but then curiosity got the best of him and he said "I don't know - those things are so expensive. Why would you waste money on that?" What nerve?!

I ran down the list of what it can do for the money:

pictures
books
news
mp3s
movies
games
video
apps (word, excel)
internet
phone dialer
appointments
phonebook
etc.

I felt bad as I handed him a tissue to wipe the grime from his jaw after scraping against the dirty NYC train floor......
Shut him up effectively...

beening a bit of a gym rat. I even use my at the gym, to listen to mp3 and with a program "weights". I have my workout programed for the next lift and rest time between lifts. And you can use it with your thumb (big buttons).
People also stop to ask me what is that. The regulars just call me "The gym geek"

well, being a "chick" myself I can tell that this attracts guys as well as girls even though I have old N760C. Today I was doing a mock survey of OR area (I am clinical RPh btw) and I took some pictures of areas with my MS Camera. So, I got attention of surgeons and did a picture for them of some specimen. Plus I was able to get one for my boss and now she is showing off by taking pictures of her grandchildren.

Vindigo

My favorite app to show off the palm besides
pictures
videos( recorded and downloaded)
mp3's
word docs
and cool Games

is vindigo
living in NYC and commuting to Boston for Work
vindigo was the original reason I bought a Palm V
it has all the restaurants, movies, museums, Music, and bars in the city, by location, cost, and rating.
it can map it for you and give you walking directions,or subway directions from your current location.

I have also given people directions to someplace that I have never heard without knowing the city(boston).
