Yeah, two good features and the alarm functions should be easy. Just have to think about the user interfaces so it will be in line with the other BellTime tools.

The current date can be displayed on the top line, but there seems to be no way to show the day of the week as well. There appears to be plenty of space. A three-letter abbreviation would be OK.

Ok, I'll do this in the next version. It was proposed to use "Set time & date" to display the day of the week, but this needs another slot.

I tried the Lite version on my Treo 755p and had problem getting the alarm to sound. I set sound to Midi with Start vol of 8 and end vol of 9 and when I "check it" all I get is the circle, no sound.

Alarm did not work this morning

Hi,
I have used Belltime for my morning alarms for weeks now and on odd occasions it has not woken me as expected.
This morning I may have found out why.

I have a Treo 650, and use SonTime as my Keyguard.
I have Chattermail set to wake at 7am.
I set a 7am alarm this morning which came on at 7.07am when I turned on the power to check the time. But I noticed that before it popped up, the connection dialogue for GPRS came up and as soon as this ended, the alarm sounded.

Is it possible that the email app could have interfered with the alarm and stopped it waking me?

I have now set the Chattermail time to 7.15am to stop any possible conflict.

There should be a name...

Can we have a name for each slot(and display the name or memo in the reminder dialog)? So that I can know what is the alarm for, instead of scratching my head

You can.
Tap on the name, a keyboard will popup and you can change the name.
Is that what you mean?

All the best, woz of oz

Hi Andy,
I think it's quite well possible Chattermail did delay your BellTime alarm. Probably you wil see the same if you use a calendar alarm. If not so, I've work to do... In generally, if you have two alarms at exactly at the same time, you never know wich one come first. As Chattermail is scheduled by the alarm manager you have the same scenario.

Thank you Jaap.
I hope not to see that happening again as I have altered the scheduled email wakeup.
It seemed a random event though (the alarm not working) and the two alarms have been set together at 7am for several weeks now, with the problem only occurring at times.
I will post again if I see a similar problem.

Andy.

Like Jaap said, you never know which one will go first. Try setting the email to 7:01 so it will definitely be second, and see if that fixes the problem.

In v1.1 there was a problem with slot 6 and 7 on 320x480 devices so I made a new version v1.1.1 http://steilberg.eu/page5.htm

Here BellTime after some "Skinning":

I installed also and the first displayed info said: "This BellTime Lite Beta version is not compatible to your current version. Delete BellTime including data and install this beta again or re-install your original version.". Taking in account that I am REGISTERED or licensed user, I need to know if proceeding according to that information I will lose my current settings in which case I do not understand why I've to sacrifice my data. Meanwhile I'll un-install this newer Beta 1.1c version and I will re-install the GA v1.1 as Shrink made. VERY, VERY bad!
