| Thanks Jaap,
I have a little question, what's the purpose of "Sound = Custom"? I know mobileclock provides very special noisy sound, do you want the similar function?
And since BT supports to launch a certain app at a certain time & adjust the system date/time, why not to add a function to do time sync by Internet at users' setting time?

| For "Sound = Custom" I have a plugin where you play a piano to make some tunes, but is still not finished.
Time sync: You mean like this? http://steilberg.eu/ntp.htm
Just let me know how it runs with BT on your device.
Thanks |

| Jaap, could you use Melody Editor files for that? Then you get a ready-made piano entry system, a ready-made database system, and the ability to write tunes in text mode in memos and import them

No sorry, my piano has no midi format. If you like, I can send you a copy, so you can play with it.
I just have to test it again together with the latest BellTime. |

Thanks for your explanation, Jaap.
I'm very amazed that the URL links one of my threads in a Chinese forum. Can you read Chinese?
In order to auto sync time using GPRS, I use three 3rd party apps, including BT, NTP sync, apt. I set a daily alarm event in BT, (00:25 launch "NTP sync"), then I set in apt in order to auto tap the "Sync Now" button when "NTP sync" starts. The aim of these complicated steps makes an auto time sync at 00:25. In fact, NTP sync itself has auto sync function, but it is buggy. The purpose of my thread is to skip this bug.
And about BT NTP function, I think you can check the similar function which is supported by 2PlayMe, though I don't like this app much.

| _Em, I tried Melody Editor and it works great! To use the songs In BellTime you just pick the right midi lib in the alarm settings and use sound=midi.
For sound=custom I probably will make a simple tool to have a couple of tones where you set frequency, length, volume and repeat like in BigClock.

| Sounds good... and I was realizing that about Melody Editor myself right after you posted your response Since it has the option to save new songs directly to the system midi filie, we already have everything we need. I didn't realize you were talking using wave synthesis instead of midi synthesis with your custom option The only other thing I can think of is adding timidity (multi-channel MIDI) or MOD support

Playing at start up is in the advanced options of pTunes, so I think it's pretty save. You could also use a 2nd Player just for the wakeup call, like DioPlayer (freeware with small footprint).
But please Bernhard, look at all the tools you have already in the BellTime freeware.

| keep getting error that the MP3 directory cannot be found
Using T5 and have MP3 on "internal" card and on SD card and neither directory when entered are recognized
Internal = NOLTIE/Music/
EXTERNAL = KATLAN/PALM/PROGRAMS/AUDIO/
NEITHER are recognized

| Have you tried replacing the volume name with the drive reference? For example,
Internal = A:/Music/
EXTERNAL = E:/PALM/PROGRAMS/AUDIO/
RAM = 0:/

| Just tried it again
"MP3: Path not found. Go to Menu/Alarm settings and check the card directory for MP3 files"
on a T5
Ram
Internal drive named NOLTIE (MP3 in NOLTIE/Music/)
External SD named KATLAN (MP3 in KATLAN/PALM/PROGRAMS/AUDIO/)

| The card directory is e:/AUDIO/ by default, sometimes changed to e:/Music/ .

| rdiheath,
Internal card still have a problem I work on, but external should work. You don't need a prefix like e: or a drive name. So if NOLTIE is just the name of your card and your upper directiory is PALM just put PALM/PROGRAMS/AUDIO .In this way you can change SD-Cards as long as you have the same directory stucture.
