"Restore synchronization failed" when initializing warranty replacement TX

Hi -

I replaced a TX with an identical model due to warranty replacement (Palm was decent about that actually, no hassle about the replacement). I had no s/w issues, so I hotysnced the new one according to the instructons. I had a couple failed attempts until I cleared a Com port issue (using usb sync cable) I got the following messages in the hotsync log:

- Already exists: C:\Palm\....\backup\ConnectionMgr50DB.PDB
Restore synchronization failed

Does this indicate an actual problem and what if anything do I need to do?

I realize this is a rather basic question... but I want to be sure of starting off with no errors or latent issues.

thanks

Seems to be solved now; subsequent hotsyncs don't show the error.

Ever since I got NVbackup, Ive never used hotsync to backup my apps (saves like 90% of hotsync time), so it only takes like 5-10 secs to hotsync

I monthly copy a backup set into my computer so if I loose data on my sd card, I can still restore.

NVBACKUP = THE BETTER HOTSYNC.

Because some apps are huge, hotsyncing cant transfer them.

Good to hear that your problem solved itself

It simply reported that ConnectionMgr50DB.PDB already exists. Unfortunate choice of the term failed.

"Restore synchronization failed" was the message displayed by the software in the hotsync log. Still, this one is also user error since I could have figured out that the .pdb in question didn't need to be replaced.
