Question about Wireless Lan

Ok, quick question, I was looking to pick up the WL100 card for my NX60, but was wondering if I could leave the card in 100% of the time, even when i'm not around a wireless lan, or if it was better to remove it when ever i was away from a wireless lan. I was wondering if the battery for my NX would drain faster due to the wireless card "searching" for a wireless connection when i'm away from my home wireless lan. just a question.

so should you remove the wireless card when not connected to a wireless lan?

You shouldn't experience any battery drain. It seems the only time the card is actually 'searching' is when you actually tell it to try to connect to a wireless LAN. I don't see any problem leaving it in all the time.

I have left the wireless card in my NX70V all the time and noticed no effect on battery drain

alright.. thanks.. i'm still searching for a good deal on ebay... but most people don't consider hawaii a part of the US... mailing priority mail here cost the same as anywhere else... especially from the west coast.. go figure...

I leave mine in all the time too, unless I need to use my CF card. The WL100 goes to sleep when not in use.

Yeah! I think I read in the book that the only time it drains the battery is when the little light is blinking. I would just be careful with it sticking out.
