| Question for CF beta testers! First off, I thank all of you for taking your time and making this driver perform to it's best ability. My question, as of the moment the only way to transfer MP3's, photos, etc. to my CF card is by using HotSync, is this true |

| That is one way, the other two options are to use MS Import to the MS and then copy from the MS to the CF, both methods are slow. The fastest way for now is a separate card reader. MS Import to the CF is on the list of things to be looked at. It'll take some time for all of it to come together. At the moment, warts excluded, people now have some functionality for their CF slot.

| Hi Larry,
I agree with the CF reader/writer. They are relatively inexpensive and some support multiple cards, i.e. SD CF MS etc.
Until I became a beta tester for the CF driver I didn't own one.
Now I wouldn't be without it even if the ability is added to the CF driver in the future to write directly to the CF.
I realize that some people will object to having another piece of hardware on the desktop, but it is more convenient for me.

| sliverback - does that card reader you posted you got from ecost.com read the memory stick pro's? If it does then I think I found something that I've just got to buy!

| Hi Chris,
I don't own a MS Pro so I am not sure.
It seems to support just about everything else known to mankind though
Here is what I could find on their website. Doesn't mention MS Pro specifically, but maybe you could contact them directly and ask. http://www.smartdisk.com/Products/F...MediaReader.asp
Hope this helps.

Dazzle was the only one I could remember that some had trouble with, for whatever the reason.
Additionally, I have not found so far that USB2 has any advantage.

Yes and I am curious what stick are you testing this on, I don't have an MS Pro to test. I do have other USB2 devices and yes, the speed increase is spectacular. My Maxtor external drive appears to be as quick as the IDE internal drives. The flash memory cards themselves are not that fast if your looking at regular CF, MM, and MS cards.
My memory sticks do not run any faster, I have built-in MS drives on two PC's, I have used Sony's PCMCIA adapter, Sony's MS reader, I have a plethora of HP printers that can read cards (terribly slow) and last there is MS Import which for me works the fastest. Almost 2 minutes faster than anything else. I have both a Sony VAIO desktop and a VAIO laptop, my brother upstairs has the same. I was disappointed in the SanDisk 6 in 1 USB2 reader.
The throughput on a standard purple MS can only go so fast. Now I could see that the MS Pro being faster on USB2
