| Battery adapter - GREAT!!!!! Hello
I want to share with you all my delight. I received yesterday the PEGA-BC10 battery adapter and boy, what a nice tool.
Who cares for a second battery now ? I bought 4 rechargeable AA batteries and when fully charged I tested it.
I took some pictures and waited for the fateful words to appear on the screen, I did not have to wait for a long time, after about 6 or 7 shots I saw " the batteries are too low for using the flash blablabla... So I plugged in the adapter and no more messages, I took as many pictures as I wanted. I stopped at the end cause there was nothing else to shoot in my room. The good thing with this adapter is that you can also fully recharge your NZ while travelling.
Bye

#3 | | Guest | Hi
Of course I'm sure. When I ordered it from SonyStyle Europe they told me that it was incompatible although on their website it was advertised compatible with NZ90. So with the help and the input of some CliéSource members who assured me about the compatibility of the battery adapter with the NZ90 I told SonyStyle that I want to order it anyway. So It went home ysterday and it works Great with my NZ90.
I think they prefer at SonyStyle to sell batteries instead of the battery adapter wich is cheaper OR, they do not know their products, wich is also possible.
Bye

#4 | | Guest | I am deciding whether to buy a battery or the PEGA-BC10 battery adapter. Someone said that the battery adapter can not been perfectly connected to the slot in NZ90, i.e. the plug and cable is not flattened when connected. May u tell me is it easy to break the hot syn slot accidently? I am afraid that when i put them (when they are being connected and charging) in my bag during travelling, is it easy to damage them ?(what a pity if my NZ90 is broken!)
Would anyone give comparsion on the battery adapter and battery? thanks a lot.

| Power hi
What do you mean ? Power the NZ when the battery is low ?
Yes.
Actually you the battery adapter has two functions
1 - Power the NZ
2 - Charging the NZ

| I find that the connector is forcing a bit on the NZ connector. I am wondering if this would not damage the NZ connector long term...
Besides that it works like for my former NR. |

| yes, search the forum!
a short answer is that a member ground down the connector (plug) on the side that goes against the clie, and built up the same side near the cord... nice and solid...
please search the forum....

| I purchased the battery extender on ebay. It was promoted as being for the Sony NR,NX and NZ series. I have had no issues with the connector being to tight and it works great to recharge the battery or to run the NZ directly. For $8.99 it makes a great alternative to a second battery. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&category=27968

#12 | | Guest | Does the battery adapter work with rechargeable AA batteries, and is the charging rate (time for charging the batteries to 100%)the same as by using AC adapter?

| I use it. The charger/extender works with any AA batteries. It will either charge the unit or just let it run with a two position switch. And yes I do use it on my NZ90. HOWEVER, if you look at the male end of the charger and the male part of the NZ90s charger/stand you will see why Sony is urging caution in using this or any other not approved device. |

| close up views of the pegabc10 can someone please post close up views of their PEGA-BC10 connector by itself and also a picture of the connector inserted on the nz90 and state if this particular picture fits "correctly" to the port of the nz90? i understand that it migh fit at an angle putting undue strain on the connectors of the nz90 and some additonal grinding should be done to correct the width of the connector. i checked the thread for the e bay auction of the pegabc10 and the connector appears to be different from the current connectors we have around now.

| it does fit tightly, and at an angle.... when inserted, if you pushed on it, you would probably damage the connector or the clie...
i have one... if you are careful, i think you will be fine... the real disadvantage, in my opinion, is the short cord, so it's inconvenient to use with the pack attached..
i heard someone mention there is a clone of this device on ebay that has a longer cord... i bought the sony one because i could get it quickly, and it has the option to charge or to be used as a power supply... i don't regret buying it...
