Question Which drug guide is the best?

With all the different drug guides available for PalmOS, I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best available drug guide and why...?

I personally have used Skyscape's RN Nursing Drug Handbook and LexiComps drug guide.

I like LexiComps content a bit more, but the interface with the Skyscape apps is great.

How about some of the other drug guides available?

I'm a flight paramedic in Washington, DC and routinely use my drug guides to check on drips I may not have seen before (I'll never forget the sigh of relief I had knowing I had my palm with me the first time I encountered an octreotide drip!).

I'm very happy with LexiDrugs in my ED setting, after trying most of the others over the years. It gives more content than I might want in the back of a helicopter, but it is very easy to navigate to the right component. I just looked up octreotide and found the kind of succint information that I think I would have needed in your situation. Some Canadian content is missing at times, but they're getting better.

ePocrates Pro.

I enjoyed the freebie version for so long, I felt compelled to spring for the Pro version out of pocket. (Also, I stay morally "pure" from pharmaceutical money.)

Helen or any one,

I tried many times to hotsinc ABx guide for antibiotics, but have always end up with invalid error message.

Did you encounter this before? If so, what steps did you have to take to alleviate the problems?

Thanks,
John

It does work but needs a lot of RAM...I put it on my MS card and hotsync it only once in a while after copying it back to RAM.

I'm currently trying the Tarascon Beta. I like the Skyscape Nurse Drug book, since it has content on how to mix IV drugs. Otherwise Tarascon rocks. Free, but not for long.

Try to download it again and do not put it on MS. It has an autoupdate feature, means that it synchronizes when you hotsync being connected to the internet. Honestly, I never had this problem before
