| Japanese ROM for Palm V needed Hi
I have a Japanese workpad c3 rom image (OS 3.1) working fine on my Palm V. I want to do LANsync, however, which is not possible with PalmOS 3.1.
I need to get an Japanese OS3.3 or OS3.5 rom image, or some kind of upgrade. This must fit into the 2MB flash of a Palm V.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks in advance!

| Hi,
According to this list:
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=64,E=0000000000677800801,K=6477,Sxi=1,Case=Obj (10714)#palm
there is no Palm OS upgrade available for Palm V.
However, if I got it well it should be possible to run Palm OS 4.1.0 on this device if You are lucky enough to find the upgrade package:
Look here: http://www.handhirn.de/en/comments....er=Palm&model=V

| Thanks for your replies.
In fact, I solved my problem (which was really to get NetSync over a LAN working for a Japanese palm). I did this by installing netsync.prc which I'd picked up somewhere, probably off palmone.com, I think.
The trick was to use Linux and kpilot to do the installation, as the Windows Palm desktop (under English windows) was hanging when I tried to sync with a Japanese Palm.
Now all is Hunky Dory: I can successfully sync my Palm V running PalmOS 3.1 (japanese) on a serial cradle hanging off my English Windows machine over the LAN to a Sony Vaio laptop (which has no Serial connector). Phew!!
Cheers
