 | VersaMail 3.51 on Palm TX?
Anybody here that's got a Treo 700p and a Palm TX try copying the newer version of VersaMail (3.51) to the TX? Anybody done it/Does it work? |

i haven't done this but was wondering what the benefits are?
can you actually read the emails or does it still show crosses where pictures should be??
if not are there any better email programmes for tx?

| I got brave and ported over VersaMail 3.51 to my TX, and here's the verdict. It is no longer called VersaMail but Email, so upon launch I'm expecting a system error, but to my surprise it launches fine. it supports my TX's full screen and everything. Some of the main improvements are autofilling of addresses, much better Gmail support, crashes much less often. So all in all it works much better, in fact I was thinking of buying a third party email client but not so much anymore. | |

| If that's what your asking, No, I will not distribute copyrighted material. But I have seen places on the Internet where these files can be found (although I got mine off my friends Sprint 700p). | |

| And also I don't think this is the same version on PalmGear, because the one on PG shows a "Sync" button. The one I have installed still shows the "Get" button. | |

| could you please provide us with a list of files that we would need to delete from palm, and the ones that we need from 700p.

| I first copied these files to my SD card. I then used then the "install to ram" option in Resco Explorer. I did NOT delete any files beforehand I just let it overwrite the files. I hopes this works for you like it worked for me, but do keep in mind this could scrap your Palm as I'm sure this is a risky operation

| I got a hold of the VersaMail from the 755p. I installed it, but upon launch crashed my TX and put it in a reset loop. I figured the two SD card files were the culprit, so I deleted them. I was able to run it after that, but it didn't handle my 320*480 screen as well as v3.51. I deleted it and reinstalled v3.51 as I'm quite happy with it. | |
