| Tungsten C can't connect wifi, help me plz I have a palm tungsten C, I bought it few mounths ago. When I bought it, wifi functioned so well. But few weeks ago, suddenly, it couldn't search for wifi signal and couldn't connect wifi also. I did hardreset it, but it is unhelpful for my palm . I think the hardware causes this problem. But I don't know how.
Does anyone know how to fix my palm ??? plz tell me ...
A palm tungsten C without wireless is so boring ! |

Doesn't it find any networks? Or is there an error message? |

| You could try to knock onto the back. There seems to be a problem at the connection between mainboard and Wireless LAN chip.
I have written an article on TamsPalm-DE http://tamspalm.pytalhost.eu/2007/0...en-c-von-innen/ (sorry, no English text yet) with two photos of the mainboard / WLAN chip. You need a Torx T6 screw driver to open your Palm. Then take out the WLAN chip and insert it again. It *could* help (it helped someone on Nexave, but not too much me). |

| Try netchaser http://www.bitsnbolts.com/ to reset wifi files- they sometimes go corrupt. Also don't update to 3.0- this causes wifi module to malfunction. |

Why do you think so?? I think Update 3.0 was released because older versions caused trouble... For example, the device "forgot" its MAC address. |

| I had two TCs that I updated to 3.0- couldn't connect or had a hard time finding hot spots. Contacted Palm- they stated that my wifi module most likely failed. So, I inserted another wifi module (from a non updated rom) and it still did not work for me. So inserted the "faulty" module unto my non updated TC- it worked flawlessly. I tested it for weeks, the two TC w 3.0 update would not pick up most hot spots or stay connected long enough- might of fixed the MAC address issue- but sure screwed up something else. The two TCs prior to the 3.0 update worked great- no issues- I only upgraded to have my TC up to date. Now, I have my new TC to v.1.0- no update- and it surfs great and finds hot spots easily. This is my 4th TC, no more updates for me. Palm issued updates for the TC- might of fixed certain ones- but another issue took its place. This is just my opinion.
