ChronMemoDA and Accessorizer problems

A number of folks have reported crashes. I have found one potential source of crashes: things go badly when both the app launched via DA and the base app (the one launched out of) have hi-res+ support and you're on a hi-res+ device.

This means that things should be better on a square display. One solution is for me to disable hi-res+ support for the app launched via DA. I'd like to have a better solution, of course. I'm working on it.

I uploaded ChronMemo 1.08a to:
http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1681

It might fix the hires+ issues. But there are still potential problems. For instance, inserting a card while the DA is running is a bad idea if the base application from which you call also registers for card notification.

If I launch ChronMemoDA 1.08a and just return to my launcher, the main screen is completely unresponsive. I cannot switch tabs or launch another application by tapping its icon. Interestingly, I can bring up the recently used/favorites menu by tapping and holding the home button in the status bar. I can also get menus to show by tapping the menu/find button in the status bar, but the menu options cannot be selected by tapping.

I am able to activate applictions from the favorites pop-up (this is via mySkin). And when I exit that application and return to the launcher, everything works properly. If I activate ChronMemoDA again, the screen freezes again.

No crash-resets, though.

Mine freezes also. But, I tap and hold the home icon (set using myKbd) and tap on an app from the list my TX resets.

Edit: That was from/in DTG and 1.05 resets from there also.

Edit2: Tried 1.08a from VersaMail - reset, although when I tried using ChronDA from a lighter app like trackerdog it behaved as FerdFerd described.

I'm still not getting any crashes with Accessorizer and my NotePad & Toast Timer DAs I've been launching with both myKbd macros & MetaDA. However, as I posted in the Accessorizer thread, I'm loosing all FontSmoother settings after I exit the DAs & the screen refreshes.

I installed and it still reports 1.08a? Anyway, I used the DA to launch and use ChronMemo from within NoahPro, CardTXT, db and VersaMail with no problem.

When I tried with DTG the TX reset.

I would not mind your idea of hi-res+ deactivated although I am using TX, because this way the keyboard (I use Mykbd) would pop up instantly. I do not think the 320x320 is a problem for a DA, you do not want to use it a long time, but rather for a quick look or search, in which case you need keyboard, and you want to save a tap for popping up keyboard. Actually I sometimes chose applications 320x320 when I need the keyboard on them most of the time (phonemagic, petitlaunch, propel with 320x320 skin had my preference).

My experience is the same as pokeypda's. No crashes or freezes that I've found so far, except when the DA is launched over Documents to Go. I specifically tried it within an open Word document. The crash occurs as ChronMemo begins to open.

I went back to 1.05r2, and as it happens, it behaves this way too. I had not tried it over DTG, I guess, so I didn't notice this before.

I get a crash over the Palm Launcher, with the Launcher window maximized, but only with some combinations of icons showing. That's really weird.

I haven't been able to reproduce that on my TX. I've tried it with Applications, activating the DA in each category. I tried to fool with moving icons around. I also tried it from Favorites, just in case, but nothing there either.

If you need testing of particular combinations, I'm willing to try to comply.

1.09c works better with Launcher and Docs2Go. The price is that the DIA is always up.

1.08c crashed on exiting when raised over Documents to Go. Behaved normally when active. Just couldn't get back to the underlying document.

Was DIA up or down when you launched it? It is more likely to work with DIA up.

No crashes at all with 1.08c, 320x320 with DA activation. I used Sheet to Go (DTG) and a few other apps. Note with DTG I tried with the DIA up and down, both worked.
