| Megapixels limit reached According to this article 6.0 megapixels is the limit for digital photography: http://news.com.com/2100-1041_3-615...3-0-5&subj=news
More important is a "fast" sd card, technology to reduce noise and more options to optomize photo opotunities.
Furthermore it is an art to be a photographer. You have to experiment with settings and be as experienced in taking photography. Those people who blog and use the internet it is better to use a low pixel picture to download and to prevent those folks who borrow your photo.
Almost another topic is actual photoprinting your photo. So far most of my photos are just on my computer and I have access to a photoprinter company. I wonder if most folks here never print the pictures themselves? |

| I always thought the touting of megapixel levels was somewhat misleading. I mean, hell, most people reduce the screen resolution anyway after they take the picture, like in a photo editor. |

| IMHO, the problem is that most cameras still use only Bayer-Pattern sensors, not like the Foveon sensors...
Its a pretty weird system actually - color filtered pixels arranged in a pattern to create the impression of color(and loads of weird noise, at least on my Sony DSC-N1).
My wish for digital cameras in 2007 is the further deployment of Foveon sensors.. |

| Yeah I cant quite remember what My panasonic DMC FZ30 has for sensors (its going to be annoying now) but it was worth the expensive price for it as it does take really nice shots ands its abillity to focus and get the colour tones are pretty dam good in severeal conditions.
(no where near my z72 :P )

| I'm too lazy to start a new thread, but anyone asks here is Lexar's page to help you guestimate how many pictures your 1 Gb Sd card could possible hold. http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/capacity_chart.html
Of particular reference to the mega pixel bragging rights, Sony clie may have had smaller (.3megapixel) on its TJ series but the camera sure beats Palm's Z72 camera even though they claimed more pixels.
Sometimes software will trump hardware..... |

| Sony introduces its facial recognition technology in it's new cyber shot camera: http://news.com.com/2300-1041_3-616...62707&subj=news
Not to be confused with the criminal detection use of facial recognition technology written up by wikipedia. Supposedly the camera can have the pictures placed onto it HDTV Brevia television. Once again Sony tries to tie in their products with other products of its own company. |
