| About Sony psp, complaints and questions Hey guys, I will try to make this short as I have still the internet connection problems.
So I found black 4GB memory stick duo and Sony psp quite cheap from one finnish "ebay kind" of site so I'm maybe getting them both! Because I though that it would be nice to transfer all media content from my long used 1gb ms to this 4gb card and use new psp only for media and leave my th55 for handling all organizer stuff. Sounds good? At least on my opinion! Because PSP has the power and screen for media job rather than th55
But after reading some reviews of psp and it photo viewer and video player, I got very dissapointed! In one psp review the reviewer mentioned that you can scroll the photos on the psp but he didn't mention any other way to view the pictures except slideshow! So is there other ways to view photos like in multi thumbail view?
Also, as I really like to organize all my photos to different folders in memory stick there is one question for that too. Is it possible to separate pictures to different folders in the ms and then watch photos on the psp like normal?
So until this day I though that PSP has very good and versatile software for media content but for now, psp's image viewer definitely sounds very bad compared to Palm os's resco photo viewer. And also the psp's video player because reviewer said that psp's video player supports only mpeg4! So what the heck?! Even tcpmp supports more formats! What you can do with these media apps on the psp if they are totally screwed up?!!
So here is one more important question, does psps updates and firmwares make the psp's apps like photo viewer better and more versatile? Because I would like to use psp fully for images and videos because of it amazing screen, but if it is that limited, it just feels like just getting that 4gb stick just for my th55.
I know that psp's updates brings at least internet browser and some kind of rrs 2.0 reader but still no talk about better image viewer or movie player! I wouldn't really want get 150-250 euros device just for gaming even the games are quite massive compared to our pda games, but still I prefer more full PS2 and 3 games than small screen games for real playing!
Please help and light me up about psp! The best psp deal is going closed next monday 5.1.07 so I would really need some replys before that!

About my gadgets, I'm now just using my psp, camera and cellphone. Maybe I will someday get a new pda, but it must to have phone cababilities so I don't need to use my regular cellphone anymore. And yeah, this means I won't be hanging in here 1src that much anymore. If someone want me to remove unfinished threads from 1src or something just pm me. Keep your gadgets running!

| Welp I use both really. PSP mostly for multimedia as I love the RSS downloads so I have that download new podcast and watch or listen through out the day around the house but I mostly use the PDA when away from the house because it is sooo portable than the PSP. As for the image viewer, it does kinda suck as it display the images in vertical format like the PSP menu and at most displays images 5 at a time on screen. YOu can have it section off in diffrent groups, I use this to seperate my manga in volumes .

I really do, because it would be so shame use th55 for images and leave the psp's beautifull screen to other stuff Anyway, how many centimeters psp is wider than th55? Just because I might have case for it but it is just about 2-3cm longer than my th55. Anyway, what do you mean with your last sentence? Do you mean that it is someway possible to separate images to different group or something? Ouh and I almost forget... if I buy used psp, is there way to hard reset it? I would like to make new clean start Or doesn't make it any different on psp?

| Well here are the dimensions for the PSP: 170 mm (L) x 74 mm (W) x 23 mm (D)
and the TH55: 121 x 73 x 15.7 mm the width is pretty much even but its the length and depth might be a problem. Yeah, you can save images in diffrent folders on your PSP and when you view it on the PSP it will be viewable, say you have one group called wallpapers and another for DeathNoteVol1, you can choose which group you like to view. If they are not in a group well they will show up below the group folders as well. As for hard reset the PSP, I don't think so, what ever update you have on the PSP is what you'll have to keep. You can restore the default settings though if you don't like how the previous PSP owner had his wallpaper and nickname was setup.

Though it has UMD drive and lot of specs which th55 doesn't have but still. However if we think this clearly, it isn't really possible to get 4,3 inc screen and gaming buttons under that size, so it makes psp's size quite reasonable. But maybe they could have done something to the psp's weigh. Oh well, now I must buy Dr. Phill's weigh solution for psp Just kidding.
I'm 90% getting psp on this week so hope fast deliver times for me I will order both psp and 4gb ms from one finnish site where psp is really cheap, just 140e for base back! And this one finnish site is selling 4gb ms pro duo for just 100e which is also super cheap!
I'm going to use 4gb stick just for media files like photos and music etc. And my 1gb stick for documents and palm os games and etc. Though there will be lot of space left but it better than deleting all kind of stuff.
Btw, it is quite cool have all kind of Sony devices. Like sony pda and now sony gaming device. Next target is getting sony camera and phone but that takes quite much time

| Um, is there way to separate videos to different folders on psp? This just kinda sucks that it seems to read files only from single folder. Any software or hack for this problem??

| Here is a ten minute video in which the psp has an added device, they take the screen off, the front panel changed, but no battery view: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OtL7ZaRZsE
Enjoy the Indian sounding music as someone takes the psp apart. Also on the link are other psp assessories... |

| Wow, that was one cool video! Thanks for link. It was so cool to see what kind of parts there are in psp. But btw, do psp have "two" screen(s)? First screen is the front cover and under it would be the real screen?? Maybe I will take look another time bit of closely...!

| Um, does psp have some kind of video limits, that it can't play example over 128kps rate audio or something like that? Or can't play movies which are in (or over) 480x272 resolution? Or or?

| New update on Psp Psp phat= 1st generation
PSP slim =2nd generation (added near earphone plug for showing video on tv and loss of ir capability
psp3000= better screen daylight viewing better
Wi fi is a bit limited due to not being able to natively use a keyboard (though hack version for psp phat ir keyboard reported) built in keyboard using screen and buttons on psp is slow like writting text on a telephone keypad)
IPod video and Psp memorystick video uses mp4.
