| pTunes 4 and TX bundled pTunes and upgrades I recently noticed on my pTunes "Help->About" a line that said this:
"Thanks for registering! You have free upgrades to all future versions"
Currently, I've got 3.1.1 Deluxe installed. When I d/l version 4, it was on 15 day trial, and my current registration code was rejected (says I can't use version 3.x.x reg code in a 4.x.x version).
So - do we TX users have a free upgrade path to 4.x.x and beyond or not? It appears not, but that seems at odds with the "you have free upgrades to all future versions" message.

| I beleive it means that you can upgrade to the last version 3.X for free (3.1.8???) and that only means the basic version, not the advanced. If you choose to remove ptunes 4 from you pda, use Destaller Lite, its free and sees both versions of pTunes as separate programs (Uninstall Manager does not) which makes it easy to downgrade.

| Thanks, BaDZeD. Thought it was TGTBT on unlimited free upgrades.

| I believe there was one release of PTunes that had a full upgrade offer attached to it. If you bought PTunes in this time period, just send them an email and ask for the upgrade key.

| Well, one can get away with just having the basic version. The only advantage i see in the pro version (both 3 and 4) is the ability to play mp3 radiostations. However, you can get that by downloading MunduRadio, which is also free. |

| I heard back from the Normsoft folks. Bottom line: "Pocket Tunes Bundle customers are not entitled to free upgrades to Pocket Tunes 4.x" They are not sure where the free upgrade on my reg screen came from. Oh well - too good to be true...
They did remind me, though, that bundled ptunes are eligible for a $29.95 upgrade to 4.x deluxe.
Thanks for the input from this board, too.

| You do need to upgrade to the ''Basic'' version which is different than the bundled version if you want to play oggs & a few other features. IIRC, the price was $14.95 for that upgrade.

| soem of us haveripped all of our music in WMA format and are too lazy to convert them. PTunes allows you to play them, even DRM protected (maybe?)
And, if you upgrade to a new version number you only have access to that versions' (ie can't upgrade 3.2.1 to 4.0.1, must purchase). that's the same with 4.x.
