Galiena is the Governor's frisky wife. Have you been in the Governor's castle yet? |

| Don't beat yourself up -- it's an easy enough thing to miss, but it sure makes a difference in what you can do in the Expansion.
And now you can PARTY!!! |

| Hello,
I'm an experienced Quester playing a 24th level Nogur fighter on the expansion. I seem to have explored all on both islands, e.g., fire caves, sulphur caves, ice caves, etc., interacting with or killing all NPC's along the way; yet I'm stuck with the following unresolved quests and can't seem to make any further progress on them (note: I'm on day 92 from my original start of Quest, and my lack of progress at this point is getting a bit frustrating):
Warning, some of the info. below may contain spoilers for those who have not yet completed the expansion!
1. Find Brother Jago's Flail: No clue where it is. I've found a flail or two during my conquests on the two islands, but none where accepted by Jago to further the plot and I was ultimately able to sell them at the blacksmith (which I assumed would not occur if they were crucial to a plot line). This quest does not seem central to the ending, but who knows...
2. Find Brother Joffrey's Murderer: Found the cup with the hemlock, spoke to all the players, e.g., Joram, Alvaro (whos swears he did not do it and implicates Joram, etc.), the alchemist and Father Benedetto. No one seems to progress the story along further. I suspect that the "Cult Members Only" rooms may play a role in solving this quest (and possibly others), but I can't find the key anywhere. This quest seems central to the ending.
3. Find the Sword of God: Not even remotely sure how to solve this one given I've been all over Thule except one place, the Cult Room in the basement of the Abbey. This room needs a key which I can not find. This quest is obviously central to the ending.
4. Rebuild the Old Bridge: Gurutz asked me to rebuild the bridge, but I can not find the correct hammer (note: I got a hammer in the Lavabird room, but this one did not do the trick). Rebuilding the bridge seems central to the plot, i.e., to discovering who is behind the evil force, but I'm stumped as to where to find the hammer. I did search the buildings in the closed port on Eldfell (as noted by the child whose Granddpa is out fishing) and the buildings on the Thule side of the bridge, but could not get into any buildings nor find any hammers.
5. Find Jewelry Shop Thief: I solved the crime and got the goods but unfortunately, I may have sold one of the items before returning them all to the Jeweler. When I did return the items to the Jeweler, she called the guards and I was sent to prison (I prompt broke out). In visiting the Jeweler later, she thanks e for solving the crime?? Not sure if this quest is key to the end game.
6. Find Idol of Balbus and Fertility plant: I believe that I found both the statue (in my inventory) and the plant (no longer in my inventory) in the sunken cemetery. Unfortunately, I think I accidentally used the plant while mixing potions, so it is gone (is this possible?). In any event, after more than a week, I revisited the location yet the items were not replenished. Does this mean that I cannot solve the quest? Is this quest key to the end game, i.e., does Dolf give me something that I need later?
7. Find Out the Situation on Thule: I've been to the Gov. numerous time since exhaustively exploring the two islands yet he only talks about three things (paraphrasing): (1) Do not to leave open the gate (I've figured out how to use the teleports), (2) thank you for taking care of Dolf (queen's mistress), and (3) how are the soldiers in the arena (good, despite me kicking their butts). How do I report back the situation on Thule to the Gov??? Perhaps he'll figure it out on his own once I rebuild the bridge (he he)?
8. Comfort the Zombie Girl: It seems I've picked/used all of the Love lies Bleeding plants on the islands before getting to this quest, so I probably need to return to the main Quest island to get enough of this flower to fulfill her needs. I assumed this was a minor quest not key to the end game (perhaps this was a bad assumption)...
Any help that you can provide on the above quests is greatly appreciated! |

I'll answer your questions here.
#5: I don't think it's possible to sell any of the stuff meant to be returned to the jeweler. I've tried, and I've even Enchanted one of them so I could sell it for more, but I can't sell any of them. (Btw, apparently she called the guards because you didn't have a high enough level of a certain skill.) This quest is not key to the endgame.
#6: Yes, the Fertility Plant can be used to make a Resist diseases, a Restore health, or a Fortify Dexterity potion. It's a one-of-a-kind plant that doesn't respawn. And yes, this means that you can't complete this quest. This is a stand-alone quest that is not key to the endgame.
#8: You can get the Love-lies-bleeding in Freymore if you've used up what is in Eldfell but if you don't bring back the plant within 24 hours, Velga turns into a zombie and the quest can't be solved. This is a minor quest that is stand-alone except that I think you have to kill Velga in order to complete the requirements for the Thule mayor's quest. This quest is not key to the endgame.
#1-4 and 7 are all part of the main storyline and are required to choose the endgame. A lot of events happen really quickly here so I'll be asking you questions about where you are here.
First question: After you found the cup with the hemlock, did you talk to Sister Pamfilea (the cook)? |

Silvergirl, thanks for the quick and thorough reply!
I do not remember talking with the cook (the one who asked me to do help her w/laundry) since finding the cup. I will try to do so this evening and get back to you. |

Silvergirl,
I loaded up with persuade and personality and respoke with the cook. This time she chaged her tune and it lead me to various events. At this point, I've spoken with the Beast and gotten a cure from Brother Alvaro(?). I'm supposed to find the abbot, so I've started the search. Looked in the basement (all rooms) and abbot's library area so far but no luck. Will continue later this evening... |

There's a new dialog line that appears with him as soon as he gives you the cure... |

| Errata Hi all,
I have some general questions about the Quest/Expansion that maybe someone knows the answers: - There is a lot of stuff one can pick up along the way that seems to serve no purpose (non-magical necklaces, coins, furs, etc.). What are these things for? I know there are a few side quests that ask for some of these things from time to time, but for the most part are they just taking up space? No one wants to buy this stuff!
- There are (primarily) undead enemies that suck XP away from you, and the dialog box states you can get it back. How does one do that?
If anyone knows these answers I'd be obliged! |

#1: Here's an answer to your first question from Lady Cat herself: Quote: | Originally Posted by Catacomber Some of the necklaces are not sellable if they're related to quests or were specially coded not to be sellable. #2: During beta-testing, I asked about your second question:
Me: When you get bitten by the Beast, the game now says "You have lost 1000 xp. It can be restored somehow." Has there been a way to regain lost xp implemented in the expansion?
Cat: The only way I know to restore xp is go fight
Me: I'm not at all concerned about losing xp because it's so easy to get, but this "restore" statement has generated a lot of heat in the base game. Would it be difficult to remove the "restore" statement?
Cat: Stewe hardwired that restore statement in--I think we should wait awhile before asking about that.
Well, since Stewe was busy doing things harder than wrestling dragons with zero AC and Magic resistance, we never did bother him about this.
I hope that answers your questions! |

| Hi there,
I'm also having a lot of the same frustrations as modeanus.
I'm stuck with the following quests:
1. Find Brother Jago's Flail: No clue where it is. I've hunted high and low (but obviously not high enough or low enough as I haven't found it...) but I've run out of places to look I think.
2. Find Brother Joffrey's Murderer: I've got the cup with the Hemlock. I've spoken with Sister Pamiflea since finding the cup but she just tells me about the Abbey and thanks me for help on the washing. Father Benedetto is about as much help as a chocolate kettle, and no-one else is giving me any clues about this one either.
3. I've found the Cult Room, but no key. As modeanus says, this room is obviously central to things, but I just can't get in.
4. Find the Sword of God: I keep talking with the Abbot, but no new news. I keep climbing up the ladder in the Abbey Library but get told there's nothing useful in the books.
4. Rebuild the Old Bridge: I declined when Gurutz asked me to build the bridge as I was mindful of the warning given by the boy on Eldfell, but I can easily go back and accept this task. Will this help me find the correct hammer?
5. Find Jewelry Shop Thief: I found a couple of items and have returned these, but I can't seem to locate any more items or progress this any further.
6. Find Out the Situation on Thule: Similar to modeanus, I keep going back to him, but he's just not listening to what I'm telling him about Thule.
7. Comfort the Zombie Girl: How many Love Lies Bleeding plants constitute a bunch? I have two at the moment. I have gone back to Freymore, but can't get anymore there either. They haven't respawned since I walked around on Freymore, and no-one's selling them either.
8. I keep talking with Naiara to try and exorcise her devils for the Healer, but there's no dialogue option about this. Am I too low in a certain skill to help her?
9. I think I have the correct hard weapon to open up the cold spring, but I can't for the life of me find it.
10. Where or what is Eckinish?
11. I went round the ice caves (nice robes...) and smashed at all the cracks I found, but nothing opened up. Am I missing something here too? (Probably!)
This is really lame of me, putting down such a long list of failures. Normally I can at least complete the main quest OK without too much help but Im really stuck at the moment. Any help, hints or tips to get me moving again would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Slayer. |

It does answer my questions. Perhaps he had early ideas for these items/xp issue and simply chose to not implement them. Thanks for the reply! |

| The previous posts confirm my opinion, that The Quest, espacially the expansion is somewhat different from Legacy. It is much harder to finish the game and more the expansion. I've got stuck in Thule, too and it took a while to proceed with the main story line. The Murderer, the Sword of God and the Flesheater Desease are closed linked togehter and finding a clue for one, lets you proceed in the other ones.
Further the Jewelery Shop Thief and the Undertaker are linked to the governor's wife and daughter and therefore to the healer and finally to poor old Seff.
You see, the quests are much more complex than in previous games.
In addition, some quests can only be solved, if certain skills are trained high enough. So not only strength, endurance and intelligence are essential to solve the game, whereas usually only side-quests are based on certain skill levels.
I solved the expansion some days ago and it was a complete new experience. So try not to think Legacy-like. There is no really straight line in the game. You have to make your way back and forth and around various corner to solve the game.
