Possible to apply wallpaper on tungsten E?

anyone have any ideas if its possible to apply a wallpaper on a tungsten E without getting a program to skin the thing. I like the original os and would just like to apply any wallpaper I want behind the OS. Any info would be appreciated

I believe there is no way of putting a wall paper in a Tungsten E. The only solution out there is to get a luncher utility like Zlauncher or to upgrade the ROM to a newer Palm OS Garnett version.
Both of these solution can be difficult concerning that it was not intended for novice users.

I used zlauncher for years on my t2 - but now i bought megalauncher - Way better than original os, customise all sounds, background picts and i can not do without holding down on icons to get a menu

ie move delete, copy zip etc

once you go there there is no going back,

try and enjoy!

What do you find so different about MegaLauncher that you chose it over ZLauncher?

I like the battery tool in ZLauncher, and most of the shortcuts to the different functions. Waiting for popup menus is no problem- it gives you a second chance if you change your mind, and you don't often us them.

The top & bottom bars are small and the screen doesn't look as busy in ZL than it did in the screenshots of ML...

After all that, I don't see much different in look & functionality to justify the effort to untinstal one launcher system and install the other.

You can't upgrade the ROM of a TE. For the TE it is possible to change the background in the calendar. Otherwise you will need a 3rd party launcher. The most popular ones are I think LauncherX and ZLauncher (I use the latter one).

you can install the launcher from a later OS, like from an E2 on it, and then change the background.

Though not any legal way or? It sounds like a usual rom upgrade but the files must get yourself from somewhere else than Palm's site.

Anyway, I recommend zlauncher. Because even there is app for everyone but still, zlauncher is the most customizable launcher and when you have set up it for +1 hour it might just look as in your dreams Zlauncher is way to make look your pda as stylish, modern and cool. But as Megalauncher might be easier to set up and ready for go it might still be the better choige for someones.

If you want know more about launchers. Check my thread:

If you get F3T3AgendaBG and CBIT 1.1, you can make your own Agenda view backgrounds for the TE's Calendar app. Both are free.
