I got an nx80v in the mail yesterday that has the camera issue everyone talks about. All it showed was a black screen. While perusing these forums, i read about one guy temporarily fixing his with a flashlight. I couldn't resist. When i shined my led flashlight in the camera, i saw a dim outline of the bulb in the screen.
I decided to get a bit more light on it and see what happened. I pulled out a laser pointer and thoroughly "dosed" the camera. I got a picture, though it was streaking and had poor color. After "dosing" it several times, making certain to get every portion of the camera (hitting the entire window in the preview pane) my camera started working again. It seems to be fine, except for occasional glitches that i fix by turning the clie off and back on.
Can anyone try this and confirm whether i've found a fix or a fluke?
The camera is dying and will eventually expire despite the 'light in the lens' aberration. You cannot save it. I have two NX80's and both cameras went kaput. I sent my primary back to Sony for repair and it works like a champ.
