| Ms Pro Magic Gate With Uk Th 55 I've been searching and reading of the problems people have had, and seem to have solved, with MS Pro.
I've bought some 256MB MS Pros with Magic Gate on ebay and I'm having problems getting the sticks recognised on my UK TH55. One member recommended installing a patch called FATFS.THpatch.prc , but I can't see where to obtain that.
Also, there's talk about reformatting the MS; but how do you do it? People seem to imply that the Clie will format it for you, but if it doesn't even recognise that there's a stick there how can it do that?!
Any advice gratefully received.

About my gadgets, I'm now just using my psp, camera and cellphone. Maybe I will someday get a new pda, but it must to have phone cababilities so I don't need to use my regular cellphone anymore. And yeah, this means I won't be hanging in here 1src that much anymore. If someone want me to remove unfinished threads from 1src or something just pm me. Keep your gadgets running! |

| Assuming the TH55 recognises the hardware, you can format it on the TH55 by going to:
System->Card Info->[Menu]Format Card
However, if the card isn't recognised by the TH55 at all, then you may have troubles.
What MSPro is it? Pearly White? Pearly Blue? Black? Black+Gold stripe? Black+Redstripe?
Also, try it (if you can) in another computer or camera or something that has an MSPro slot to make sure the chip itself isn't duff...
I only buy sealed items on eBay now with stuff like this because I never trust 2nd hand storage media (Esp. hard disks, but now more-so RAM...) |

| I've check more than 30 TH55s. None of them has MS card reading problem. It is more likely you have a bad MS. Like Cyker says, the best way to format it is with your CLIE, not with your PC.
Out of 10-20 MSs that I have bought and sold, I only had 2 bad ones. The first one was a 128MB Lexar (a dud). I returned it for a full refund. The second one was a fake 2GB Sony MS Pro Duo Black+Red stripe from eBay. There are tons of these fake ones there and they are very cheap. This fake 2GB Sony MS Duo, was not a dud. It works with my Sony Cybershot DSC-T33 and Sony VIAO UX180P, but not with my TH55 for some reasons.
