| How to unlock Treo 650/700p for T-Mobile? Okay, this question is for all of you geeks and nurds out there..
I do have a pre-paid sim from T-Mobile that i use with my SonyEricsson T610/616. I was looking for a Treo 650 or 700p "Palm ofcoz" to unlock for my T-Mobile SIM card....
* How can i unlock it?
* what do i need for "Tools, software etc"?
* Anyone with more professional experience can do it for me?
* What is the reasonable price?
any other information about it are welcome. Thank you guys, gals...

You cannot unlock a 700p for GSM because its a CDMA device. Now if you want to unlock the 680 or 650 GSM or 750v, thats possible. I don't know how but it is.

| Which model is better? Thank you guys,
Now i have to find a good Treo with a reasonable price.. Lots of them on eBay but i dont know which model is better. Never had a Treo before.
Any suggestions about which model is better and why? As you might know i do have a SonyEricsson T610 and a Clie UX50 to close the ring "for now ofcoz"...
I am still thinking about getting a SonyEricsson P910 or P990.. If /When i have money...

LOL. I had a CLIE UX50/T610 combo as well (look at my sig). I am going to get a PPC-6700. I was considering a 700wx. I think if you want to get a Treo that's Palm OS and cheap. Look into the 680 from Cingular ($200 w/ 2 yr service and EDGE). I have not used it so I don't know how it performs but I know its the cheapest/newest Treo around running Palm OS.
I personally want to try Windows Mobile to see what the fuss is about and to use its multitasking capabilities.

| I was seriously looking at a Treo 680. But eventually decided to hold off for that elusive linux/Palm OS treo. My main reason for looking is to see if a convergence of cell & pda now makes sense for my situation. Perhaps I should write in to the Grassia/Kirvin "Smartphone helpdesk" (a little humor for those who heard podcast #104).
Yes the 680 is pretty cheap at $200; but with $40/month for an unlimited data plan, and 2-year agrement, for my situation, its a better deal to buy it unlocked, at $400. Part of the reason for this argument is that I don't really need to use the phone for Internet, just calls and SMS texting. But I currently have a TH-55, which has great battery life for a PDA. And the 680 has only a 1200 mAh battery vs 1800 mAh for 700p, So I can already see I'd have to spring for an extra battery and a cradle to charge it. And then I'll have to learn to adjust to a smaller screen with limited graffitti use. I've been using graffitti 1 for over 6 years now; and even G2 was irritating enough for me to load G1 onto my TH-55.
But my TH is showing signs of wear & tear now. And I'm getting tired of using a symbian os phone (Nokia 6822, with flip-out qwerty keyboard). So that's what's got me looking at all. |

| How about the Sambian OS on SonyEricsson p900, p910,p990 etc? anybody has a Sambian Samrtphone?
as i said before i do have only a prepaid T-Mobile card that i charge for $50 once in 3-4 months. So, i don't want to get involved with any kinda contract and pay useless money each month. Best option in my case is an unlocked phone and not a contract.
getting the phone cheaper is an illusion when you pay it off during 2yrs... nice capitalist system with dream credit scores and cheap things... the rest of the world doesn't have such legally stolen money out of peoples pocket... but we get back to the first question... "we do have a elected government that has to work for the people and not the other way"...
I still cant believe that in USA they communication is counted per minute and not second, plus caller and receiver both are charged for the same per minute counted nonsense talk about the in Law's families or wrong number call, commercial bullshit etc...lol
did i talk tooooo direct and open? sorry than..

| Unlocked phones are great, especially unlocked GSM Treos. Here's another vote for 650unlock.com!
I've been using my Treo for a while now, and I absolutely love it. Great flexibility, AMAZING software selection, and solid performance. Plus unbeatable battery life! Treos all the way!

| Good News.... I got it... Well, i couldn't wait any longer. just saw a great used "only for 1 month" Treo 650 all in original box, condition and my winner bid was $215...
So, i guess i can use Treo with my EarthCumb GPS software on my UX50.
Now i have to convince my wife to accept my used T610 + SonyEricsson Bluetooth headset as xmas gift...lol
i dont think so....
