| hmm... the white Apple MacBook is a laptop, and appears to fit your requirements perfectly -- it even runs pretty much every OS currently on the market.

| The MacBook line recently got bumped up to Core 2 Duo but Apple managed to sell it at the same prices as the Core Duo models. |

| BeOS had its day, but things moved forward. At one time it had great potentional for handling media, vs the other options, I'm not sure about now.
I ihave not used it since 98, so I don't really know how things have evoloved for it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeOS
The MacBook is a great option, definately the best when it comes to software. You can get it installed with Windows also, but if you're like most of us, it will only take a few months to abandon XP for the most part.

| I think some Averatec notebooks are this kind of white. Some LGs or Fujitsu notebooks might have this kind of finish too (although, not competely white all over).

| I can also heartily recommend the Macbook. The Core2Duo models run much cooler (up to 20C cooler!) than the old ones, which still didn't get that hot. OS X is, of course, a much better OS than Windows XP and Vista, but you can always dual boot or use Parallels if you absolutely have to.

| I love the metal look of the Powerbook and MacBookPros but definately MacBook looks way better than even the Sony white laptops. They look to boxy, although that Acer one looks sick but it also looks expensive. I have Windows 98 and Windows 2000 on my PowerBook via Virtual PC for HB++ coding. Just be warned that no Macs have SD card slots yet and kind of doubt they will. One of the more annoying things as well as the low amount of USB ports annoys me.
Overall they run great. I am talking from PowerBook perspective so I hope what I said helped in some way.
BTW look at this review of the Acer... http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/notebo...9258260p,00.htm
Look at the Bad commentary...

WTF?

| As I live in Taiwan, I can fairly say that Acer makes some of the worst Taiwanese notebooks.
A classmate bought one, and it took forever to boot, he got an exchange, and it didn't boot. In the end, he argued a whole week with Acer, and finally got a refund. Stay away from those trash.
For those who want a nice Taiwanese PC, try ASUS.
I am really happy with my MacBook, and would recommend it to anyone who has an open heart to try MacOS

| Get over it Mac people, this person is looking for a PC! It does not matter what is better it matters what the question is.
I am using a white Asus Z35f which I had to build myself, but the specs are:
13.3 active matrix shiny screen
Core2duo 2.33
1.5 GB ram
150 GB uata HD
internal bluetooth
svideo out
express card slot (NO PCMCIA)
it would appear to be a near copy of the 13.3" mac, but it has a right mouse button and is fully clone compatable. (also the processor is faster than the 13.3 mac)
OK... I'm ready for the MAC ATTACK! |
